(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

8. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

1. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] 80-Year-Old Ms. Xie Jin’e Faces Trial

Ms. Xie Jin’e from Lishui District, about 80 years old, was arrested in July 2022 by a police officer who followed her. She was released on bail for health reasons. After two years, the Yongyang Town Police Station submitted her case to the procuratorate. She was scheduled to stand trial at the Yuhua District Court on July 22, 2024.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Li Bing Arrested

Practitioner Li Bing was arrested at home by a dozen police officers from Nanguan District around midnight on July 14, 2024. 

3. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Cong Arrested

Ms. Liu Cong was arrested at home at 5 a.m. on July 12, 2024, by officers from Longgang District Domestic Security Division, 610 Office, and the Xijie Police Station. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Huludao City Detention Center and is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Her car keys, about 2,000 yuan in cash, cell phone and other personal items were confiscated.

4. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Guifang Arrested

Ms. Chen Guifang, 68, was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested and taken to the local police station on the afternoon of June 25, 2024. The police confiscated her audio players. She is being held in Zhenjiang City Detention Center.

5. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Yexin, His Wife, and Daughter Arrested

Mr. Zhang Yexin, in his 50s, his daughter Ms. Zhang Jue, 29, and his wife who doesn’t practice Falun Gong were arrested by officers from Shiqiu Town Police Station in Lishui District on the evening of July 13, 2024.

Mr. Zhang’s wife was released and returned home that night. Mr. Zhang is being held in Lishui District Detention Center. Ms. Zhang is being held in Nanjing Women’s Detention Center.

6. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] 70-Year-Old Ms. Zhong Yanying Arrested

Ms. Zhong Yanying, in her 70s, lives in the Meixian District, was followed and arrested by seven or eight officers from the Chengjiang Police Station on the afternoon of July 12, 2024, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to Meixian County Detention Center in Zhuyang Village, Chengdong Town, and held there overnight. Due to health reasons, she was released the next morning.

7. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Yunying Arrested

Officers from Qingyuan County Police Department, officer Li Jun from Nankouqian Town Police Station, and Gaolitun Village Women’s Federation director Song Wei, went to Ms. Qi Yunying’s home in Gaolitun Village, on the morning of July 14, 2024. They confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun, an e-book, three audio players, an MP3 player, as well as informational materials about Falun Gong. They took Ms. Qi to Gaolitun Village Committee for interrogation and forced her to sign the deposition.

8. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Ten practitioners, including Mr. Wang Nanfang, Mr. Zhou Shuyou, Ms. Hu Fengju, and Mr. Wang Zexing, were arrested on July 12, 2024, by the police in Fushun City and Qingyuan County. The female practitioners were taken to Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City, and the male practitioners were taken to Dashagou Detention Center in Qingyuan County.

Mr. Wang Zexing was arrested by officers from Henan Police Station in Qingyuan County in the morning. His two computers and a number of personal items were confiscated. 

The families of Mr. Wang Zexing and Mr. Zhou Shuyou hired lawyers to visit them at the Dashagou Detention Center on July 17. The detention center denied the visitation request on the grounds that their cases were still under investigation.
