(Minghui.org) The systematic persecution and organ harvesting of Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners, initiated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) on July 20, 1999, has been ongoing for 25 years. Practitioners in Istanbul held events in front of the Chinese Consulate on July 19 and 20, 2024. They did the exercises and told people from the community about the persecution.

Many drivers honked, clapped, or made the wolf sign with their hands, a symbol of support among Turks, as they passed by, to show their support.

Some drivers stopped and took brochures from the practitioners. One person drove by, read the posters, and returned for a brochure. Consulate employees also carefully read the posters as they drove by. Some people who were in their boats approached the shore and took brochures.

Practitioners held a commemoration ceremony in front of the Chinese Consulate on the evening of Saturday, July 20 for those who lost their lives in the persecution.

Many people came by to learn more. They condemned the persecution and took informative brochures. Many people recorded the event with their mobile phones and took photos. People who were hearing about the persecution for the first time said they were shocked. Many people signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.

Practitioners held a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate on the evening of July 20 to commemorate those in China who were persecuted to death.

A recent college graduate wanted to learn the full details of the persecution. He repeatedly condemned it. He said to the practitioners, “I hope this persecution ends soon and people will be free. What a great struggle you are fighting. You are spreading goodness.” He signed the petition and wished practitioners success.
