(Minghui.org) On July 21, 2024, practitioners in Brasília, the capital of Brazil, held an event at a city park to mark the 25th anniversary of their efforts to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. They displayed six artworks from the Art of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance Exhibition, so people could learn about Falun Gong and the persecution.

Many people talked with practitioners, and signed their petition to end the persecution, and took informational magazines, flyers, and the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.

Practitioners held an event in Brasília to mark the 25th anniversary of their peacefully protesting the CCP’s persecution.

Pedro and Gilvan, two elderly men, said they encouraged practitioners’ efforts. They believe that opposing such evil persecution is a fundamental human principle. They were pleased to receive the book, Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. They said they would tell their friends and family about the persecution.

Janaína and her friend Carolina didn’t know what the event was about and almost walked past the information booth. When practitioners explained that it was an event marking 25 years of protesting the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, they immediately wanted to learn more. After reading the flyers, they condemned the persecution and said that the CCP must be eliminated.

After hearing the practitioners’ explanation, a young man, Paulo, immediately agreed to sign. He said, “Such things as organ harvesting for profit must be stopped. I definitely want to sign this.”

Eduardo is an engineer. He carefully read the materials, and said he was dismayed to learn such atrocities existed. After signing the petition, he talked with practitioners for a long time. He said that societal chaos and people’s moral values are closely connected. He also mentioned that some people support government centralization and direct control over people’s thoughts, leading to a state of “thought monopoly.” Eduardo firmly believes that Brazil must not follow this path and should ensure people’s freedom and promote traditional education.

Local resident, Lázaro, signed the petition to support practitioners’ efforts to expose the persecution and said that the CCP would surely end.

Another passerby and his wife stopped to listen as practitioners described the persecution. He expressed his belief that dictatorships do not last long. He thanked practitioners for their efforts and said he hopes the persecution ends soon. He also hoped for a peaceful world where people’s hearts turn to goodness.

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Its teachings are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings and exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology. On July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.

Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization that has the power to override the police and judicial systems. Its sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 25 years. However, the actual number is believed to be much higher, due to the difficulty in getting information out of China. Countless practitioners have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply China’s organ transplant industry.
