(Minghui.org) Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, located in Vendée, in western France, is a popular, seaside resort. On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the 25th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa, practitioners held an event to tell people about the persecution.
Practitioners in western France held activities in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie
While they demonstrated the exercises, tourists from France and from around the world stopped, and read the display boards and signed a petition to end the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.
Martine, from l’Isère, stopped to read the information, and was shocked to learn that Falun Dafa was persecuted in China. She said, “I didn’t know that there was such persecution before. It is absolutely unimaginable and unbelievable that people are brutally slaughtered just because they practice meditation. This persecution has been going on for twenty-five years, and there are no words to describe it.”
She added, “It’s unbelievable, especially when institutions like the European Parliament or the United States Congress are already aware and trying to intervene. But little is known about it, and the persecution continues.”
She thanked practitioners for exposing this genocide. She signed the petition and said she was interested in learning Falun Dafa.
A husband and wife from the Vendée region were interested in practicing the exercises, and gave their contact information to local practitioners.
Two young boys have an in-depth conversation with a practitioner.
Two young boys talked to a practitioner at a booth who told them that the media reports on the persecution of Uyghurs but rarely mentions the persecution of Falun Dafa. They thanked her and said her explanation made them aware of the brutal nature of the CCP. They said it is very important for people to know the truth.
Maryvonne and her daughter Maïlys talked to practitioners.
Maryvonne stopped at the information desk with her daughter, Maïlys. Maryvonne said that a friend told her about Falun Dafa, and she was curious, but she never seriously explored it. She said talking with practitioners gave her a deeper understanding and she was interested in learning the exercises. She said this was the first time she heard about this genocide, and it was terrible.
The daughter Maïlys said she was not surprised that the mainstream media did not cover this issue, because so much is being hidden. Both mother and daughter signed the petition and thanked practitioners.
