(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Falun Gong practitioners Ms. He Zhuojun, Mr. Leng Shunchang, Ms. Peng Huayun, and Ms. Gong Taiqing are scheduled to stand trial at the Zengdu District Court on June 27, 2024.
Ms. Wang Liying was tried in the Jianping County Court at 9 a.m. on June 20, 2024. Her non-lawyer defender was barred from representing her, and she testified in her own defense.
Ms. Wang Xiuzhi from Xinmengzhuang Village, Nuanquan Town, Wei County, was arrested on June 14, 2024, in Guangling County, Datong City, Shanxi Province, a neighboring county across the provincial line, when she went there to talk to people about Falun Gong. She is now being held in the Datong City Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Liqiong and Mr. Yang Zhonggui were stopped and body searched by local domestic security officers when they were talking to people about Falun Gong out in public on the morning of April 22, 2024. They were taken to the Yuanlin Police Station.
Ms. Wang was released that night. Mr. Yang was transferred to Yangshi Detention Center for having Falun Gong materials in his bag. He was released 10 days later.
Ms. Xia Fei from Hengyang City, Hunan Province, was sentenced to one and a half years in prison and fined 2,000 yuan in the Guangzhou Railway Transportation Court on January 30, 2024. She has been admitted to Qiongshan Prison in Hainan Province to serve time after the Railway Transportation Intermediate Court ruled to uphold the original verdict in June 2024.
Ms. Wang Yuchuan, Ms. Wang Shumei, and Fei Shiqing were arrested on June 6, 2024, and had their homes ransacked. They have all been released after being held briefly in Beijiaidian Detention Center.
Qiaokou District Domestic Security Division officers broke into Ms. Wu Yunhua’s home on May 22, 2024. They ransacked the place and confiscated a Falun Gong book, a portrait of Falun Gong’s founder, and a copy of his recent article. They also took photos of her family members against their will.
Ms. Li Wenqi was arrested on May 23, 2024. She was detained for 12 days and released on June 4.
Ms. Liu Huixia of Qishan County was arrested at her home in Hengli Garden Residential Community on the morning of May 22, 2024. She is currently held in Qishan County Detention Center. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.
