(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Queensland held a march in downtown Brisbane to call for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 25-year-long persecution.
Practitioners held a march in downtown Brisbane
The parade was led by a “Falun Dafa is Good” formation, followed by practitioners carrying banners that read “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong” and “Commemorate Falun Gong Practitioners Persecuted to Death by the CCP.”
Practitioners dressed in white carried photos of those who were persecuted to death by the CCP.
The procession passed through the center of the city, including several downtown streets. Practitioners showcased the beauty of Falun Dafa and exposed the truth about the persecution. Many passersby were handed informational materials. Some said that the persecution must stop and those responsible be brought to justice.
Scott Smythe from Australia’s Gold Coast calls for an end to the persecution.
Scott Smythe has practiced Falun Dafa for 24 years. He is the owner and general manager of a commercial irrigation company in Queensland. After he read Falun Dafa’s main book Zhuan Falun, he said the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance resonated with him.
He said his career and family life were positively impacted, “I always read Zhuan Falun. I live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. These principles have guided me to where I am today, in how I run my business, and how I treat my family and friends. Everything in my life is guided by these principles. If you follow this path, you will not go wrong in your life.
“Practitioners in China are still being persecuted. They have upheld their righteous faith for 25 years, and I am here to support them. I condemn the brutal crime of forced live organ harvesting from my fellow practitioners and call on kindhearted people worldwide to help stop this persecution.”
Daniel distributes information about Falun Dafa along the parade route.
Daniel, 37, distributed materials along the parade route. He said, “When I tell people that the CCP has been persecuting Falun Gong for 25 years, they are shocked and surprised. I think it’s necessary to let people know what’s happening and how serious the crimes of live organ harvesting are.”
On June 25 this year, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the “Falun Gong Protection Act,” which will hold those responsible for the persecution accountable under the law. Daniel said, “The CCP is especially afraid of people worldwide and governments learning the truth. Governments of Western countries must take a firm stance against the CCP. This will play an important role in changing the current situation in China.”
He expressed his gratitude and said practicing Falun Gong helped him become a good person with moral integrity. He said, “Many people my age have mental health issues, including depression. Practicing Falun Gong is not only beneficial for my physical health but also for my mental health. If I hadn’t practiced, my life would not have been this good.”
Ever since he began practicing 15 years ago, he has participated in activities to clarify the truth and said, “We must continue to let everyone know about the CCP’s brutal persecution.”
Sebastian, a young computer engineer from Sweden, and Betsy, a fashion designer from Spain, were visiting Australia. They were shocked to learn about the persecution.
Sebastian said, “I knew the CCP had a poor human rights record, but I never imagined they could be so evil as to harvest organs from Falun Gong practitioners! This is a huge crime!”
Betsy said, “The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are excellent guidelines for living. Everyone should follow them.”
They took a lot of informational materials and said they would give them to their friends. They also signed the petition to end the persecution.
Jake, an education major from Canberra, was visiting Brisbane. He said he supports practitioners’ peaceful efforts to end the persecution, “This parade was very peaceful. It’s hard to believe that this group has been persecuted by the CCP for 25 years.”
After he heard how practitioners are persecuted, Jake expressed his sympathy: “The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance align with universal values. The CCP’s genocidal persecution of such a group is a crime against humanity and must be stopped immediately.”
Jake suggested that practitioners give lectures in schools and hold exhibitions to help students become aware of the facts.
Nicolas and Tilla, university students from Sydney who were visiting Brisbane, expressed their admiration for Falun Gong’s peaceful resistance to the persecution.
Nicolas’s grandfather is Italian, and his grandmother is from the Uyghur ethnic group in Xinjiang. He was born and raised in Australia. His grandmother has many relatives in Xinjiang who suffered from religious persecution by the CCP. Nicolas said he has some understanding of Falun Gong and agrees with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
He said that he heard about the CCP’s heinous crime of organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners: “The CCP's wanton violation of human rights, especially the crime of organ harvesting, is intolerable. These crimes must stop and the perpetrators must be brought to justice.” Nicolas and Tilla signed the petition to end the persecution.
A man from China spoke with practitioners who explained the truth about the staged Tiananmen self-immolation incident and organ harvesting and helped him withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
