(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a rally at Wenxin Park in Taichung on the afternoon of July 20, 2024, to mark 25 years of the persecution of Falun Dafa. They called on people to help stop the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa.

Many politicians came to show their support. They praised practitioners for 25 years of peaceful protests that have earned people’s support and caught the world’s attention. They also called on the government to pass laws to stop organ harvesting and censure the CCP. Passersby stopped to watch, take photos, and express support for Falun Dafa.

Practitioners’ rally in Wenxin Park on July 24 to mark 25 years of persecution

Practitioners from Taichung, Zhanghua, and Nantou demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. They commemorated those who were tortured to death in the persecution with a candlelight vigil, music, and a movie. The activities were held at a busy intersection. Practitioners held banners that read “Falun Dafa Is Great,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Is Great,” and “Stop Persecuting Falun Gong,” which attracted people’s attention.

Peaceful Protests Strike a Chord

Xie Zhizhong, Taichung City Councilor, came in person to show his support.

Xie Zhizhong said that practitioners’ peaceful protests for 25 years have focused people’s attention on Falun Dafa and won their support, “People can see your peaceful, persistent protests against the persecution and are moved. When there is enough empathy, our rights will be safeguarded.”

He observed that practitioners are kind. Although the CCP has not stopped the persecution, he is confident that “countries around the world are now beginning to pay attention to this, in addition to frequent proposals raised in parliament to support Falun Gong, the legislative committee has also stepped forward. The U.S House of Representatives also passed a protection act.

“The passing of the Falun Gong Protection Act by the U.S House of Representatives has helped a great deal to protect the rights of Falun Gong practitioners. It is a big step in practitioners’ efforts to oppose the persecution.”

City Councilor Censures Organ Harvesting, Organizations at All Levels Should Speak Out

Liu Shizhou, a Taichung City councilor, calls on people to censure the CCP for organ harvesting and oppose its criminal behavior.

Liu Shizhou, a Taichung city councilor, said at the rally, “Organ harvesting by the CCP is a brutal act that goes against humanity. The whole world should censure this. Human rights are universal values. I hope the legislature will speak out.”

He said that, in the past, the allegations of organ harvesting were mostly based on anecdotal evidence. Falun Gong practitioner Cheng Peiming recently testified in the U.S. that he was a victim of organ harvesting. Former military doctor Zheng Zhi described what he saw of organ harvesting. Liu Shizhou said that this is in no way misinformation: “The doctor’s and the victim’s statements have shown the world just how nefarious the CCP is. Everyone should cast aside the regime and oppose its brutal crimes.

“Many people in Taiwan go to China for kidney transplants, I hope the government enacts strict controls, including on hospitals and doctors. If it is discovered that organs were obtained illegally, such trade should be severely punished.”

City Councilor Supports Laws to Stop Organ Harvesting

Li Tiansheng, a Taichung city councilor, calls for people to stand up and stop the CCP’s barbaric ways.

Li Tiansheng, a Taichung city councilor, said that Falun Dafa practitioners have peacefully protested the persecution for 25 years. He attends the activities every year to show his support and concern. The whole world is paying attention to this topic, including the CCP’s barbaric organ harvesting. People’s representatives in different countries have stood up to show their support and censure the regime. The CCP’s persecution for 25 years has cost the precious lives of many Falun Gong practitioners. He called on people to step up and stop the CCP’s barbaric ways.

He also mentioned that recently in the Taiwan legislature, members Xu Zhijie and Chen Zhaozhi proposed passing laws to stop organ harvesting, and the parliament has also voiced its support. This is a serious issue, and he hopes everyone respects life.

Taiwan Is Truly Fortunate to Have Falun Dafa

Practitioners handed out information and explained what Falun Dafa is.

Practitioners distributed fliers and explained the persecution to people in the areas surrounding the park. Some residents gave them a thumbs up while others praised them for being kind. Ms. Yang said that when she handed out fliers at a train station, an elderly man shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” He also told her, “Taiwan is truly fortunate to have Falun Dafa, Taiwan is stable because of you.”

Ms. Liu who was walking in the park, took a flier and talked with a practitioner. She said she’d read about organ harvesting in the news and said, “It’s cruel and terrifying. The CCP does not regard people as humans. Good is rewarded, but evil is punished—such huge sins! Where will these perpetrators go if they reincarnate?” She also said, “The Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Falun Dafa teaches is good. I don’t understand why the CCP wants to ban this.”

Organ Harvesting by the CCP Truly Exists

Mr. Yu, who works in optometry, has known a Falun Dafa practitioner for more than 30 years. He said his friend is a wonderful person and has practiced Falun Dafa for more than two decades. He said that, before the persecution, many people in China practiced Falun Dafa due to its significant health benefits.

He said, “Organ harvesting by the CCP truly exists. Around 2010, my landlord’s wife went to Hong Kong for a kidney transplant. The kidney came from China, and she was told it came from a living person, which was better. She was advised not to use organs from death row prisoners. At that time, a kidney cost 5 million NTD.”

Mr. Yu also said he often heard that Taiwanese businessmen were cheated by the CCP when they went to China to invest. Some of them lost several hundred million NTD. He stressed the importance of seeing the true nature of the regime, that one should read and listen to the truth and make the right decision.
