(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Wang Nanfang and Others Arrested
2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Xiaosi and Two Others Arrested

5. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Sumei Detained
6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Peng Shiyuan Detained
7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ni Chunyan Detained

1. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Wang Nanfang and Others Arrested

Several Qingyuan County practitioners were arrested around 5 a.m. on July 12, 2024, by officers from Fushun County Domestic Security Division, Qingyuan County Domestic Security Division and local police. Nine of the arrested practitioners have been confirmed, including Wang Nanfang, Wang Zexing, Zhou Shuyou, Liu Haitao, Hu Fengju, Hu Mingli, Huang Yuping, Lai Chunlian, and Li Shuqin.

2. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Du Xiaosi and Two Others Arrested

Ms. Du Xiaosi, Ms. Wei Zhanmin, and another practitioner whose name is unknown, all from the Fukang Residential District in Laiyuan County, were arrested by officer Zhang Fang and others on the afternoon of July 15, 2024. They were taken to the county police department.

3. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Jiang Yuntian Arrested

Mr. Jiang Yuntian, 57, of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was arrested in his apartment in Guangzhou by officers of the Chonghua Police Department and Shengang Police Station on the afternoon of July 12, 2024. His laptop, Falun Gong books, and other items were confiscated.

4. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Bai Xuesong Completing Prison Term

Mr. Bai Xuesong, the father of a Taiwan resident, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan by the Lishan District Court on September 29, 2022. He is scheduled to be released from the Dalian Prison on July 19, 2024.

5. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Qi Sumei Detained

Ms. Qi Sumei was arrested outside of her residential district by captain Wang Zheng and others from Heishan County Domestic Security Division after 7 p.m. on August 16, 2023. The authorities kept her family in the dark of her whereabouts. They recently confirmed that she is being held in Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center.

6. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Peng Shiyuan Detained

Mr. Peng Shiyuan, 53, of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was arrested by officers from a police station in Yongcheng City, Henan Province on June 9, 2024. He is being held in the Xuzhou Detention Center in Jiangsu Province. It’s not clear why the police in Henan and Jiangsu were involved in his case.

7. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ni Chunyan Detained

Ms. Ni Chunyan, 61 of Yilan County, was arrested by two plainclothes officers who were on a stakeout when she went downstairs to empty the trash bin at noon on July 8, 2024. She is being held in the Harbin City Detention Center.
