(Minghui.org) Practitioners recently held an information event at Brașov, a mountain tourist town, on May 25, 2024. Practitioners displayed posters and banners and distributed information about Falun Dafa to passersby. They introduced the practice and collected signatures calling for an end to the persecution in China.
Practitioners held an informational event on May 25 in Brașov, Romania.
Located in Transylvania in central Romania, Brașov is the sixth most populous city in the country and used to be an important commercial hub between Austria and Turkey. When they heard how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) brutally persecutes practitioners, many people called the persecution “horrible,” “unbelievable,” and “a major crime against life and truth.” They all agreed that it must stop. They thanked practitioners for their efforts to revive traditional values that were nearly destroyed by the CCP. They also said Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are very important social values.
Romanian American Stefania Teodoru.
Ștefania Teodoru, a Romanian from the US, stopped to speak with practitioners. She said she already knew about the persecution of Falun Dafa because she has seen Shen Yun perform in the United States twice.
She said she did not know anything about Shen Yun Performing Arts, but the advertisements caught her attention and she bought tickets. “The first time I went was two years ago with my daughter. We practice meditation and I was very impressed with the show. It all resonated with me and my faith. It was something on the level of spirituality,” she explained. “I was very sad to see this horrible persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, people who only want to spread light, kindness, and compassion. It’s unbelievable. It's hard to believe it’s happening. But then again, China is communist, so their rules are different and people can expect anything. We know because we grew up with communism here, too.”
Ms. Teodoru encouraged practitioners to continue, that they were doing the right thing. “Keep believing, keep meditating, and in the end I believe that the universe and the divine will help us,” she said, adding that more and more people will know what is going on. “I believe there is hope. And good will rise above evil. But we have to keep our hope, we have to keep making efforts.”
Retired police officer Danut Sultana signed the petition.
Dănuț Sultana is a retired police officer from Roșiorii de Vede in Teleorman County. He strongly supported practitioners and signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution in China.
“I’ve heard about forced organ harvesting [by the CCP] for a long time through the media and from friends. This is a crime and is against life and truth and should stop immediately. Life comes first and we are here for life, not for destruction,” he said. Over the past 100 years, the CCP has systematically destroyed China’s 5,000-year-long traditional culture. It is important to return to traditional values.
He said many ancient stories and legends have talked about the divine connection. People should revisit such ancient wisdom for a simple life and live in harmony with nature and the universe. As a martial arts practitioner, Sultana is familiar with Asian culture and understands practitioners’ cultivation of self-improvement.
He thinks the CCP’s suppression goes against the universe’s nature and will lead to destruction. “Eventually the universe will stop you. It will bring you to the point where you have to understand that—no matter how much you fight against truth and light and nature and everything that this universe is about—you will come to understand that it’s not the right way,” he explained. “I mean, basically, the universe is already giving you the way, you just have to feel it.”
Sultana also praised practitioners’ perseverance in their faith despite the persecution. “Even if we lose—personal things or illusions or egos—we have to be on the side of truth.” The CCP’s totalitarian regime will not last long, and people’s desire for goodness will eventually lead them to return to their traditional values. “I think we have to go back to the traditional culture. The wise ones told us to learn from the past,” he added.
Sultana believes that goodness and truth will eventually win out in the end against the forces of evil. “Truth is one, and it is cosmic, universal. But now you have to get out of your comfort zone, you have to fight a battle with yourself, you have to work to get to a true practice, to get some results. Whoever wanted to raise his consciousness level practiced. Whoever didn’t, stayed there, no problem. But fortunately, the practice is carried forward and the light is carried forward. That’s how it happens. There’s a lot of darkness but also enough light to be in opposition, in balance. In fact. we are going back to the old truths, the old symbols, the old beautiful things. The joy is that there will always be someone to carry them forward.”
