(Minghui.org) On June 15, 2024, Falun Dafa practitioners held their weekly event in Brașov, a popular tourist attraction. They displayed banners, handed out flyers and demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises. People expressed their support by signing a petition calling for an end to the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Brasov is the second largest city in Romania, and is located 160 kilometers north of the capital Bucharest. The beautiful ancient capital is filled with many historic buildings, and attracts Romanians and tourists who vacation there.

Many people said Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, resonated with them. Some said the kind nature of these principles is a solution to the turmoil that humanity faces today. They also strongly disapproved of the persecution of these values in China.

Introducing Falun Dafa to the public in Brașov

People learn the Falun Dafa exercises on the spot.

Tourist: “I am totally against this persecution.”

A lady from Târgu Mureș signed the petition and said, “I am totally against this persecution. We as people should be in a common agreement, come to a consensus, tolerate each other—especially from this perspective of belief in something good.”

The woman said she practices meditation and has found that it brings her balance and calm. She said, “Now we don’t have communism [in Romania] and we have freedom. Now we can have opinions. We can say ‘No,’ and oppose this form of evil.”

State Alexandru, a young man from Brasov who owns a dog shelter, chatted with practitioners and signed both petitions aimed at stopping the persecution. The first was the Petition to the President of Romania to condemn the forced harvesting of organs from Falun Gong practitioners in China and the second was the petition to condemn the CCP for its human rights violations.

He said that the practitioners’ explanations, which he carefully listened to were, “absolutely plausible” and said that he wished to inform himself further. He said that because of what he does (rescue animals) he knows what it means to help innocent souls and to do things for those in need of help. He encouraged practitioners and wished them success.

“The Only Way to Save the Planet Is Compassion”

Damian Cristinel said, “The only way to save the planet is compassion.”

Damian Cristinel said that he’s seen practitioners many times when he was passing by their display on Republic Street and knew about Falun Dafa. This time he wanted to give his signature to stop the persecution.

He talked to practitioners about the values they believe in and agreed with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. He said the only way to save the planet is compassion.

Daniela Grindei signed both petitions.

Daniela Grindei, a teenager from Brasov, listened to a practitioner’s explanation and then signed the petitions. “I do not agree with these persecutions in China,” she said.

Bogdan Onciu wants to tell practitioners in China: “Don’t lose hope!”

Bogdan Onciu from Brașov signed both petitions aimed at stopping the persecution. He shared his own story of persecution and said he could sympathize with practitioners.

In December 1989, Bogdan was 18 years old and had no hope that the communist regime in Romania would fall. “I thought it would last forever, but suddenly a miracle happened: the regime fell, the Soviet colossus that seemed indestructible fell. Unfortunately, the Tiananmen Square massacre also took place in 1989.”

Bogdan said that anything that is false or based on lies cannot last forever and will fall. Therefore in China the oppression of people will end one day. Bogdan’s message to Chinese practitioners is: “Don’t lose hope!”

A man from Nepal signed the petition after a practitioner explained what Falun Dafa is, why the CCP has persecuted the practice for 25 years, and how the CCP sanctions forced organ harvesting from practitioners while they are alive. He immediately signed the petition.

The man said that he wanted to learn the exercises because, as a Buddhist, he believes that all our life we have to constantly learn something new. The next day he went to the practice site in Brașov and learned the Falun Dafa exercises.

After learning the exercises, he said he felt good. “I learned something new that will help me become a better person,” he said.
