(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 2 provinces, where at least 5 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Xiaomei Abused in Prison
2. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yang Lingfen and Ms. Liu Huixia Arrested

4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Guilan Released From Prison

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Xiaomei Abused in Prison

Ms. Song Xiaomei from Wafangdian City was abused in Shenyang City Women’s Prison. Her family members twice asked a lawyer to visit her in prison, but no meetings were granted.

It was reported that Ms. Song was subjected to strict control for refusing to “admit her guilt.” In order to force her to say she was guilty, the prison officials assigned people to watch her closely, did not allow her to go to the toilet or use toilet paper, etc.

2. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yang Lingfen and Ms. Liu Huixia Arrested

Ms. Yang Lingfen went to Ms. Liu Huixia’s home on May 22, 2024, and was arrested by police who were waiting there. She returned home on May 28.

Ms. Liu was also arrested by Xi’an City and Qishan County police on May 22. It’s unclear where she is currently being held.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Jie Held in Detention Center

Ms. Yang Jie from Pudong New Area was arrested in the second half of April 2024. She is being held in the Zhangjiang Detention Center.

4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Guilan Released From Prison

Ms. Yu Guilan, 85, from Wanghua District, was arrested and taken to the Fushun City Detention Center by police officers in April 2021. She was sentenced to three years in prison and taken to Shenyang City Women’s Prison. She returned home on April 26, 2024.
