(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Liu Jianheng from Baishazhuang Village, 46, was reported to police for distributing information about Falun Gong in a market and was arrested by officers from the Anping Town Police Station on April 27, 2024. He was placed under official arrest on May 11, 2024. Mr. Liu is currently detained in the Anping Detention House.
Ms. Zhang Yuzhen was monitored and followed in a shopping center, and was arrested on February 28, 2024. She has been detained in the Yinchuan City Detention Center. Her family received her official arrest notice from the Xingqing District Police Department on March 31, 2024. Her case has been submitted to the Xixia District Procuratorate.
Ms. Zhang had been persecuted before. She was arrested on July 20, 2018 and was later sentenced to one year and three months in prison and fined 3,000 yuan. Her husband was also arrested and detained for one month.
Mr. Du Ting was arrested at home by officers from the Wanli Police Station in the Putuo District at around 3 a.m. on June 3, 2024 for distributing information about Falun Gong.
It has been learned that Ms. Wang Xingui from the Pingchuan District was arrested at home on March 9, 2024. Officers from the Pingchuan District Police Department, led by the head of the police department, ransacked her home. Her computer and printer were confiscated. The police even searched some neighbors’ homes.
Ms. Ding Qian was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong in the Linglong Town Market on the morning of May 28, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, truth clarifying materials and her cell phone. Ms. Ding was placed under 10-day detention and was taken to a detention house.
Ms. Zhang Jinhua and her mother-in-law Ms. Peng were arrested on the morning of June 2, 2024 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their home was ransacked. Ms. Peng was released that evening. Ms. Zhang was taken to the police department.
Mr. Ma Genyuan, from Nanliang Village of Shucheng Town, was arrested at home by officers from the Shucheng Town Police Station on April 12, 2024. He was released later because of his health. The police installed surveillance cameras in his home to monitor him 24 hours a day.
Ms. Sun Guiting and Ms. Gu Qingyan, from Xiguoguantun Village of Shucheng Town, were caught by Internet police and arrested in 2023. Ms. Sun was released. Ms. Gu was sentenced to one and a half years in prison.
Mr. Zhang Shuangsuo, from Paihuai Village of Shucheng Town, was caught by Internet police and arrested in 2023.
Mr. Meng Xianchen, an engineer in Haidian District, was arrested on May 12, 2019. He was held for two years in a detention center and then for three years in prison. Mr. Meng was released on May 11, 2024. He weighed 187 lbs when he was arrested, but weighed 143 lbs when he was released. He was found to have diabetes and his feet were swollen. He was not allowed to stay in Beijing, where his home is.
Ms. Gao Fuling is still detained in the Liaoning Province Women’s Prison. She has no money for living expenses.
Ms. Jiang Lihua is also detained there. She will be released in about one year.
Ms. Xia Honglan was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Ma’an Town and arrested by officers from the Ma’an Town Police Station at 8 a.m. on April 19, 2024. She was detained for 7 days in the Huizhou City Detention House.
Liu Chunhua from the North Market in the Ranghulu District was reported to police by a security guard for distributing truth clarifying materials and was arrested by police in the Longnan District on May 10, 2024. Liu has been detained for more than 20 days.
Ms. Min Xiangxian, from Encheng Town of Pingyuan County, was arrested by officers from the Yaozhan Town Police Station when she was on the way to meet with other practitioners to read the Fa on June 1, 2024. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, truth clarifying materials, and over 4,000 yuan in cash. Ms. Min was placed under criminal detention and taken to the Dezhou Detention Center.
Ms. Gong Qingwei’s home was ransacked by three officers, including Ma Weihao from the Yingsheng Police Station on January 4, 2024. They claimed that 58-year-old Ms. Gong was caught by surveillance cameras distributing information about Falun Gong. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and then took Ms. Gong to the police station for interrogation. She was released later because of a lack of evidence.
Ms. Gong went to the police station on May 10, 2024 and asked for the Falun Gong books. She was arrested and detained for 15 days in the Taian City Detention House.
Ms. Li Yongmei from Huafeng Town of Ningyang County, 62, was reported to police for distributing truth clarifying materials and arrested by officers from the Huafeng Town Police Station in May 2024. She was detained for 10 days in the Taian City Detention House.
Ms. Zhu Yamei was arrested in the Wufu Residential Community in the Longsha District on May 2, 2024 and was taken to a detention center the next day.
Eleven practitioners were arrested at Ms. Xiao Chunhua’s home in Jiajia Town by more than 20 officers from the Jiajia Town Police Station and the Jianyang City Police Department on the afternoon of May 6, 2024. The police then ransacked the homes of all the practitioners who were arrested. They confiscated their Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials, media players, and other items. Nine practitioners were taken to the police station for interrogation. Three practitioners, Xie Jingfeng, Xu Niang and Lei Zhifeng, were released later that day. Three practitioners in their 70s, Xiao Chunhua, Lai Dehua and Xie Dongrong, were placed under 16-day detention, but will serve the sentence outside of prison. Ms. Xiao Chunhua was placed under 10-day detention. Chen Nengqing and Du Anhui were placed under 8-day detention.
Wang Bingzhang, over 80, was harassed at home by officers from the Gaocun Police Station on May 28, 2024. The police ransacked Wang’s home and confiscated eight Falun Gong books, three media players and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder.
