(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Twelve police officers went to the home of Li Zuozhong and Liao Yuanqun in Heshui Town on the morning of April 19, 2024. They arrested them and ransacked the home. They confiscated over 200,000 yuan in cash, more than 10 printers including large laser printers and medium-size laser printers, over 20 boxes of printing paper, several boxes of Falun Gong books, and truth clarifying materials.
The police then went to Ms. Liao Juanna’s home and arrested her and her son. The son was released later that day.
Ms. Man Qiuju was arrested at home by officers from the Yuanda Street Police Station and the Erdao District Police Department at 6 a.m. on April 19, 2024. Her home was ransacked, and the police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, truth clarifying materials, a printer, etc. Ms. Man was interrogated and detained. She has since been released.
A practitioner surnamed Wang was arrested in Erdao District on April 19, 2024. The police ransacked Wang’s home and confiscated Falun Gong books and a computer. Wang was denied admission by a local detention center due to his/her health and was released that evening.
Another practitioner surnamed Qi was arrested by officers from the Binhe Police Station on April 21, 2024. Qi was taken to have a physical examination. The police attempted to send him to a detention center.
Yu Xuelan (gender unknown) from Fengtai District was scheduled to be tried in the Fengtai District Court at 9 a.m. on April 22, 2024, but the trial was postponed. This is the second time the hearing has been postponed.
Ms. Chen Lianfang, in her 70s, was arrested at home on March 17, 2023, and her home was ransacked. Ms. Chen was interrogated in the police station and was pressured to sign some papers, which she refused.
Ms. Chen has been constantly harassed by police officers and members of the local neighborhood committee in 2024.
Ms. Wang Xiufang, 73, and her son were arrested at her home by three plainclothes officers at 4 a.m. on April 19, 2024. Her son was accused of helping Ms. Wang by delivering printing paper. The police ransacked Ms. Wang’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, computer, printer, and printing paper. Ms. Wang was taken to a detention center. Her son was released that evening.
Ms. Ai Xinghe lives in Xianggongzhuang Village, Yangyang Town. She was arrested on April 10, 2024, and may have been sent to the Sanhe City Detention Center.
Mr. Wang Li has been detained in the Shenyang No. 1 Prison. His family went to visit him on April 18, 2024 but were told that they were not allowed to see him because he is under strict control.
Yu Chaohui (gender unknown) was arrested near his or her home by officers from the Dongzhan Police Station on April 19, 2023. Yu’s home was ransacked.
Mr. Liu Shunming from Maqiao Town of Minhang District was placed under residential surveillance starting on April 22, 2024.
Ms. Lou Mengli, 60, was arrested in a residential community of Liaoning University of Technology on April 15, 2024. She has been detained in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.
Three practitioners from Liaozhong District, including Ms. Tian Sumei, Wang Huan, and Ms. Chen Lixin, were arrested on April 9, 2024. They were sent to the Shenyang City Detention Center.
Ms. Du Lijuan, 53, lives in Laihua Village, Yuguan Town, Funing District. She was arrested by officers from the Development Zone Police Station on March 13, 2024 and has been detained in the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center. She has now been placed under official arrest.
Ms. Li Mingxia was followed and arrested on the afternoon of April 19, 2024.
