(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Chengbin and Wife Ms. Mei Shulian Harassed
7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Qu Xinhui Arrested
8. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Shi Xiancheng Remains in Custody

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lian Jing Sentenced to Prison; Ms. He Mingying Faces Trial

Mr. Lian Jing from Shenbei New Area was arrested by officers from the Tiexi Police Department. It was reported that Mr. Lian was sentenced to one and a half years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan. Mr. Lian’s son had to borrow money to pay his fine.

The Hunnan District Court originally scheduled Ms. He Mingying’s trial for May 8, 2024. The court notified her lawyer and family that the trial was rescheduled to 9 a.m. on May 16, and was to be held in the No. 16 courtroom on the second floor of the court.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Liyu Missing, Likely Arrested

Ms. Huang Liyu, 42, went missing around April 23, 2024. It is suspected that she was arrested by the police.

3. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Hanshou Faces Trial

Mr. Chen Hanshou, 72, was scheduled for a second hearing by the Jingyang District Court on the morning of May 8, 2024. The court did not notify his family.

4. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Yuzhen Detained

Ms. Zhou Yuzhen was arrested by officers from the Bao’an Police Station in the Guta District on April 30, 2024. She was placed under 15 days of administrative detention.

5. [Tianjin] Mr. Tang Junyi Arrested

Mr. Tang Junyi, 64, from Dongli District was arrested at home by officers from the Huaming Town Police Station in Dongli District on April 17, 2024. Mr. Tang is currently being held in the Dongli District Detention Center. Mr. Tang was abused in custody, and his blood pressure was extremely high. The police refused to release him.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Chengbin and Wife Ms. Mei Shulian Harassed

Mr. Liu Chengbin and his wife Ms. Mei Shulian from Shihe Sub-district in Jinpu New Area were harassed in mid-April by village head Wang Yunqing. Wang forced his way into their home and told them to sign a guarantee statement not to practice Falun Gong. Ms. Mei refused.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Qu Xinhui Arrested

Eight officers from the Jingxiu District Police Department and the Jiannan Police Station ransacked Qu Xinhui’s home around 7 p.m. on April 9, 2024. They confiscated several Falun Gong books, and took Qu to the police station. Qu left the police station on the morning of April 10.

8. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Shi Xiancheng Remains in Custody

Mr. Shi Xiancheng and his wife from Yingdong District were arrested by officers from the Yingdong District Domestic Security Division on March 6, 2024, when the couple were on the train heading for Hefei City.

Mr. Shi’s wife was released that night, and Mr. Shi was held in the Fuyang City Detention Center. So far, no one has heard anything from him.
