(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held a series of events in the center of Perth and in front of the Chinese Consulate to mark the 25th anniversary of the April 25 appeal on April 20 and 24, 2024. They called on people to work together to stop the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.
Several thousand people signed the petition calling to end the persecution during the event in Murray Street Mall within a few hours on April 20.
Practitioners held banners in front of the Chinese Consulate on the morning of April 24 to condemn the CCP’s brutal persecution. They also held a candlelight vigil in front of the consulate to commemorate those practitioners who have died in the persecution. Passers-by waved to the practitioners to show their support.

Nora Kovacs was surprised that the persecution is still going on in China. She said, “It won’t lead to good things. People should have freedom of belief.”
Nora Kovacs commends Falun Dafa.
“These days it’s really important to live with these values [Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance] because a lot of people are influenced by others and their business things. If you have patience for one another, it’s easier to live in the world,” she said.
“I feel this stall and this event of Falun Dafa is so calm and so peaceful. And I can feel how it’s good and how you connect with each other. My friend practices Falun Dafa in Hungary. I know it’s a beautiful thing.” She signed the petition.
Erica Maisey and her husband Darren Maisey signed the petition. Erica said the persecution was horrific, “We are Christians, and we feel the persecution that the Chinese are experiencing under the Communist Party.”
Erica Maisey and her husband Darren Maisey said everyone needs the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.
She also agrees with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, “They are essential.” Darren agreed with everything his wife said. They took multiple copies of informational materials to share with their friends.
Lorie Burbridge and Zen Villarino signed the petition. Lorie said, “This event is a very peaceful way of letting other people know what’s happening. This persecution definitely should end now, because everyone has a right to practice what they want to.”

Lorie would like to tell practitioners in China, “Keep going with what you are doing because your belief is yours and nobody can stop that.
“I think they should look into it because everyone is equal, so I think they [Falun Gong practitioners in China] should get the same rights as everyone else,” she said.
Tracy supports practitioners’ efforts to expose the persecution, “It’s shocking, It is very unfair.” Tracy previously heard about the CCP-sanctioned live organ harvesting in China. “I heard, and I can’t believe it’s happening. It must be stopped.”
Tracy condemns the persecution.
“There is awareness out there and people are slowly getting to understand what’s happening and they [Chinese practitioners] have our support.”
She said that Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are absolutely needed.
Kathryn Taylor signed the petition and encouraged Chinese practitioners to remain steadfast.
Jean said that the event was good, “It [the CCP’s persecution] is something that should be told. It needs to be out there. People need to be aware of it. The persecution is very bad. And unfortunately, we don’t know a lot of what is going on. We don’t know a lot because of the media. Maybe the event can help.
“Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is part of our society and what people are trying to achieve,” she said.
Sandra Gustak and Will Dawson signed the petition and wanted to let the Chinese practitioners know that they have their support.
Will said, “It’s just so wrong that people should live in fear, just going about their everyday life and waking up every day in fear. That’s just wrong. They have our support. They are not alone.”

Will said, “There is no real freedom until everyone is equal—not just certain groups. We need to stop the persecution in total, everywhere.”
Sandra expressed her support to the Chinese practitioners, “It’s not just them who are fighting, and it’s also people outside of China.” Sandra said the persecution of Falun Gong in China is disgusting. “It is disgusting, is just the one word I can say.”
Sandra added, “No one deserves this or should wonder if this is their last day. It’s so unfair. Everyone deserves to live, regardless of who they are or what ethnicity or background. It’s just not fair.”
Sandra strongly agrees with the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, “Everyone goes through rough times. Everyone goes through hardship, and everyone has their own things. Everyone deserves compassion and love and truthfulness and honesty, It would be much better if the world could be like that.”
Will added, “I agree. Without truth there is no trust, and if the people can’t trust the government, then you have a real problem.”
Stevo said, “If they [the Chinese Communist Party] is not going to listen to the Chinese people, I don’t think it’s going to listen to Western people. The only thing we can do is get rid of communism. Because communism is evil. No one wants communism. They need to go!”
Stevo praised the practitioners’ event and spreading the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. “I think it’s brilliant. I think we need more of it around the whole globe.”
Stevo also asked for information to take regarding the persecution so that he can post it on his social media.
