(Minghui.org) In this Dharma-ending age, with the shift of the cosmic climate, yin and yang are seemingly reversed. What was once deemed righteous is now labeled as evil, and what was once good is often treated as bad. Facing the allure of reality and family affection, it is crucial for Dafa disciples to make the upright choice and tread our path righteously.
In a village, the grandsons of two elderly practitioners, Ms. Fang and Ms. Yuan, qualified to join the military service. However, both boys had to face the so-called “political” screening. Their grandmothers, being Falun Dafa practitioners, would affect the screening process and might impede their drafts. The village party secretary urged both Ms. Fang and Ms. Yuan to write statements renouncing Falun Dafa to ensure the smoothness of the draft process.
Ms. Fang recalled Master’s teachings:
“When a person is born, a profile of his whole life will exist in a specific dimension. In other words, where he is in his life and what he should do are all included in it. Who has arranged his life? It is obviously a higher life that has arranged it.” (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun)
She told the village party secretary, “My grandson’s fate is predetermined. If his path to the military is obstructed, he will be compensated. Perhaps he does not have to become a soldier; perhaps he will attain great success or wealth in other endeavors.” Firm in her resolve, she declined to comply, and as a consequence, her grandson did not join the military.
Conversely, Ms. Yuan, swayed by immediate concerns, hastily acquiesced to renouncing Dafa to safeguard her grandson’s military career. Subsequently, her grandson entered military service.
In the years that followed, Ms. Fang’s grandson set up his own business and amassed wealth. Meanwhile, Ms. Yuan’s grandson, lacking specialized skills upon discharge, returned to a life as an ordinary farmer.
In the face of adversity, the contrasting decisions of these two practitioners yielded disparate outcomes for their grandsons. But which choice truly exemplified responsibility toward their families and sentient beings?
Ms. Fang’s refusal to renounce Dafa resulted in her grandson’s draft failure, appearing to be a setback at the time. Conversely, Ms. Yuan’s compliance facilitated her grandson’s immediate career goal of enlistment. However, the immediate reality can be deceiving.
Ms. Yuan, viewing the tribulation with the logic of an everyday person and the attachment of family sentiments, failed to grasp its essence from the standpoint of the Fa, and succumbed to the demands of the village party secretary. Unbeknownst to her, all involved, including her family and the party secretary, incurred karmic debts that would hinder their salvation.
Her failure to assume responsibility as a Dafa practitioner for the sentient beings in her immediate community left loopholes for the old forces to exploit. Though she later voided her action with a statement on Minghui.org, she left an indelible stain on her cultivation journey.
Ms. Fang approached the situation with Fa principles in mind, acknowledging her grandson’s destiny as predetermined and holding the relevant party responsible for disrupting the arrangement. She displayed an understanding of loss and gain and believed that her grandson would be compensated for his loss. Her refusal to renounce Dafa truly illustrated her responsibility for her family and the party secretary, sparing them from committing sin.
Through the two practitioners’ disparate actions, I understand that the Fa is omnipresent in the cosmos. When failing to acknowledge it, the individual is prone to act wrongly and stray away from the Fa. This is also the reason why the old cosmos deviates from the Fa. The Fa remains immutable, evaluating everything regardless of people’s choices. Assimilating oneself with the Fa ensures a promising future while deviating from it poses challenges in making righteous choices.
It is imperative for Dafa disciples to uphold righteous choices during Fa-rectification. This is hope for the salvation of all beings.
