(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Ai Mingxia, 58, from Jubaoshan Town, Changling County, was arrested by officers from the Changling County Political Security Division on April 19, 2023. She was sentenced to four years in prison by the Changling County Court at the end of August 2023. She was taken to the Changchun City Women’s Prison on March 4, 2024.
Ms. Zhang Ping will be tried at the Shushan District Court on the afternoon of March 14, 2024.
Ms. Kang Xiaoqin from the Tongzhou District was recently arrested at home. Further details are not yet available.
More than 40 people went to Zhang Qiping’s home in Linquan County on February 18, 2024, and blocked the door. They did not identify themselves, and did not show their IDs. After ransacking the place, they confiscated a computer, a printer, pamphlets and personal belongings. Zhang, who is about 70 years old, was taken to the Linquan County Detention Center.
Ms. Meng, in her 70s, was arrested on the morning of March 11, 2024, when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the street in the county seat. She has returned home.
Officers from the Damengzhuang Police Station in Wuqing District tore up the couplets in the homes of Mr. Zhang Guixiang and Ms. Tang Manzhi on February 25, 2024. They photographed the couplets posted in the homes of Mr. Zhang Jianghao and Ms. Han Shuyun.
Officers from Baishahe Police Station in Pingdu City ransacked Ms. Zhan Yanyan’s home and her mother-in-law’s home in Dazhan Village in the Zhangjiafang area on March 5, 2024, and confiscated Zhan’s Falun Gong books and amulets. They arrested Ms. Zhan and her one-year-old daughter.
The police tortured and interrogated Ms. Zhan for more than two hours and pressured her to sign paperwork. She refused to cooperate. In the end the police photographed Ms. Zhan and her daughter, and took them home.
Mr. Lin Hongfei was arrested by officers from the Dehui City Domestic Security Division on the morning of March 11, 2024, in the store where he worked. His home was ransacked. They confiscated his Falun Gong books and a computer. He has been detained for “violating the public order.”
Ms. Tang Baozhi and her daughter Ms. Chen Yao live in Putuo District. Since February 28, 2024, people have been keeping an eye on them around the clock downstairs at their home. These people followed Ms. Tang and her daughter closely when they went out, which seriously disrupted their normal lives.
Mr. Peng Jingshan of Ningcheng County was forced to go to the police department on the morning of March 8, 2024, where he was interrogated. He was asked who gave him the paper bills which had Falun Gong information printed on them and the stamping seals. Then he was taken to the detention center. During the physical examination, his blood pressure was measured at 218/140, and he was released on bail.
On December 5, 2023, four police officers from Ningcheng County broke into Mr. Peng’s home and took pictures. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Gong books, among other things. They took him to the police department interrogation room, where he was held for nearly three hours. His family was not notified to pick him up until 3 p.m. that afternoon.
