(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 17 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liu Enyu was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Xinfu District Court and was taken to the Shanxi Province Women’s Prison in February 2024.
Ms. Xing Yun was arrested on March 6, 2024 for distributing truth-clarifying materials. The police followed her for five days before arresting her.
Ms. Yang Yanqiu from Xindu District was arrested in Xindu District on February 25, 2024. She was released later that day. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials, computer, printer, and other items.
Mr. Wu Zhanwei from Xin’an Sub-district in Huangdao District was arrested at his home by officers from the Xin’an Police Station on March 6, 2024. They confiscated his computer.
Ms. Wu Qiuqin has been under residential surveillance since September 19, 2023, and someone is stationed in front of her house monitoring her. Her photo was taken and sent to the Comprehensive Management Office.
Ms. Wu was harassed at home by two police officers including female officer Sun Qing around 10 a.m. on February 28, 2024. The police wore body cameras and asked for Ms. Wu’s cell phone number.
Ms. Hou Xiuying was arrested by officers from the Chengdong Police Station around February 29, 2024 due to something found via the surveillance cameras.
Ms. Liu Junmao and Mr. Wang Zexuan were arrested in August 2023, when they talked to a middle-age woman about Falun Gong and gave her a copy of Minghui Weekly and an amulet. The woman was a police officer.
Ms. Zhu Yunxiang was placed under residential surveillance by the Yichuan Sub-district Office in Putuo District since March 1, 2024. She was monitored and followed.
Ms. Jia Ying was harassed at home by two people on February 25, 2024. One was from the Hujiamiao Police Station in Xincheng District and the other from the local neighborhood committee. They took a photo of Ms. Jia without her consent.
Six practitioners were harassed at home or via phone by police in the Mei County District on February 28, 2024. The practitioners are Li Chunlan, Xiong Fuying, Zhong Suyun, Fu Xuebing, Tu Qingguang and Deng Fangying. The practitioners did not cooperate with the police and refused to have their photos taken. Those involved in the harassment are Zhong Bo and Li Bing from the Mei County 610 Office, and officers from the Dongjiao Police Station and the Jiangnan Police Station.
