(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Shang Jinyan from Huangshigang was arrested by officers from the Huahu Police Station on August 25, 2024. Shang is now detained in the Ezhou City First Detention Center.
When Ms. Sun Yazhen went to the bank to collect her pension in September 2024, she noticed that she hadn’t received any payment from the social security agency that month. She asked the bank employee what happened and they replied that she didn’t finish certain verification steps. She went home and confirmed that she had already finished all the required steps. However, when she went to the bank again in October 2024, there was still no payment for that month.
Ms. Sun went to the Fengman District Government Affairs Hall to inquire about the issue and was told that her pension was suspended because she had been sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong. She didn’t receive any notice about her pension suspension. The staffer claimed that only after she returned the pension payments she received during her prison term, would they re-calculate her monthly allowance and reinstate the payments.
Ms. Xu Peimei from Dongtuan Village was arrested when talking to people about Falun Gong in Yangzhuang, Yishui County on September 17, 2024. She has been detained in the Yishui Detention Center for over two months.
Mr. Wang Shuliang from Shen County of Liaocheng City, was reported to the police for using paper bills printed with information about Falun Gong. He was harassed by officers from the Sang’e Town Police Station.
His daughter, Ms. Wang Wenli, was arrested on July 12, 2024 when out with her husband and three children in an amusement park in Ji’ning City, Inner Mongolia. She has been detained since.
Ms. Wang Meihong was sentenced to four years in prison for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released from the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison in Harbin City on November 22, 2024 and has returned home to Mudanjiang City.
Ms. Li Lian’e from Quzhou County has been detained for nine months at the Handan City Third Detention Center. She was released on November 25, 2024.
Ms. Chen Youling didn’t open the door when several officers came to harass her at 6 p.m. on November 24, 2024. Three officers from the Beicheng Police Station stopped her when she went downstairs at 8 a.m. the next day and forcibly drew her blood without her consent.
