(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Xie Mingguang, 64, was arrested in Lichuan City on February 8, 2024. He has been held in the Lichuan City Detention Center for more than ten months. He was tried on August 22 by the Lichuang City Court. His family was notified on October 16, 2024, that he was sentenced to three years in Prison.
Mr. Xie appealed with the Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture Intermediate Court. The hearing was held on December 13.
Ms. Luo Lanfen from Wuqing District, 78, was arrested by officers from the Dongpuwa Police Station and Wuqing Domestic Security Division. She was indicted by Wuqing District Procuratorate and sentenced to four years in prison with a 160,000-yuan fine by the Wuqing Court around July 2024. Her pension has been suspended since July 2024. She has been allowed to serve time outside of prison due to her physical condition.
Ms. Xu Zhiying was sentenced to a year in prison by the Shizhong District Court after her second hearing.
Mr. Zhang Guozhi and Ms. Zhang Yue are being held in the Weizigou Detention Center. Mr. Zhang Guozhi has contracted pneumonia and it’s not clear whether he received any medical treatment.
Ms. Lyu Guilan of Jinzhou District talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong and was repeatedly followed by the police. She was arrested at home in May 2024 by Youyi Police Station officers, who also confiscated her Falun Gong books.
Ms. Lyu was harassed again at home on November 15, 2024, by the Youyi Police Station officers. They ordered her to answer questions in the Jinzhou District Police Department. Her son went with her. In the afternoon, Longwangmiao Boarder Police Station officers took photos of her with the Falun Gong books confiscated from her, which would be used as prosecution evidence against her. She was released later that day.
Ms. Li Yazhen was arrested and taken to a detention center in early December 2024, by local police station director Ma Chao and officers. They seized her media player and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. They photographed and videotaped her against her will. She did not cooperate. Ma scolded her. She was released that night. She later went to the police station and requested the return of confiscated items, but was rejected.
Ms. Jiang Hongying, 80, of Xixia District, wasn’t allowed to buy a high-speed rail ticket when she planned a trip back to her hometown. She was just released from prison in September 2024, after serving a four-year term given in 2019, which was later extended for a year.
Ms. Hu Jinfeng of Dingxing County was transferred to Shijiazhuang Prison several days ago. Details are unknown.
Ms. Fu Xinhua was sentenced to a year in prison and fined 1,000 yuan by the Anci District Court on December 9, 2024. She was taken to a detention center, but was released around 8:30 p.m. after she was rejected admission due to her high blood pressure.
Five Falun Gong practitioners, including Wang Shuqing, Wang Guanghui, Yang Shanrong, Zhang Zuyi, and Yang Zizhen, of Sanjie Town, were harassed at home on the afternoon of December 2, 2024, by town police officers and community clerks. The harassers questioned the practitioners and took photos of them.
The homes of Lei Dafo (gender unknown), Ms. Xu Xiuying, Ms. Chen Yuqun, and others, from Yucheng Township, were ransacked in September 2024, by officers from the Caochi Police Station. The officers seized their Falun Gong books and informational materials.
The home of Dong Furong, of Quanhe Village, was ransacked in October 2024.
The home of Zhou Honggui was ransacked by Chengxi Police Station officers in October 2024. The officers seized Falun Gong materials. Zhou’s home was ransacked again in November 2024 by Dongxi Police Station officers. The officers seized Falun Gong materials and other items.
Ms. Fu Hong was arrested on November 20, 2024, at the local train station, after the security personnel found Falun Gong books in her luggage. Her arrest was approved on December 5, 2024. She is now facing indictment after Zhao Jibo, the deputy chief of Xigang Road Police Station submitted her case to the Haigang District Procuratorate.
