(Minghui.org) The Macheng City Court in Hubei Province recently sentenced four local residents for practicing Falun Gong.
Mr. Zhu Xianyong was sentenced to three years and eight months in May 2024. His last confirmed arrest was on June 16, 2021, and the police confiscated more than 200,000 yuan. It is unclear whether there was another arrest after the 2021 incident that led to his prison sentence.
Ms. Yan Qing’e, 75, Ms. Cao Guirong, 61, and Mr. Hao Qing’an, 72, were arrested on January 31, 2023 and sentenced on July 4, 2024. Ms. Yan received three years and was fined 5,000-yuan. Ms. Cao and Mr. Hao were each given one year. Ms. Cao was fined 4,000 yuan and Mr. Hao was fined 3,000 yuan.
Mr. Wang Xinguo, 71, stood trial at the Macheng City Court on August 27, 2024. It is unclear whether a verdict was issued. His last reported arrest was on September 5, 2019 and he was detained for more than one year. He was abused to the point of becoming almost blind in his left eye. He suffers from severe hearing loss, and he developed hypertension and heart diseases. His latest arrest that led to his trial remains to be investigated.
