(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 12 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Zhang Yinzhong and Ms. Jiao Yujuan from Lanshan District, were arrested in April 2024 for talking to people about Falun Gong via cell phones. They were tried in court on November 5, 2024. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 30,000 yuan; Ms. Jiao Yujuan was given three years and six months in prison and a fine of 20,000 yuan
Ms. Liu Jinxiang is scheduled to stand a trial in the Yungang District Court on December 6, 2024.
Ms. Sun Xiuhua was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison.
Mr. Qiu Sheng from Hetun Village of Jianye Township was caught on surveillance camera distributing desktop calendars with Falun Gong information at a repair shop in Yuxintun Village. He was arrested by several officers from the Jianye Township Police Station on December 4, 2024. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books and desk calendars. Mr. Qiu was placed under 3-day detention.
Ms. Liu Liping from Yangjiatun Village of No. 8 Town, was arrested on December 3, 2024.
Ms. Zhang from Fuyu County was arrested at home by three police officers on December 1, 2024. Her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated. Ms. Zhang was released in the evening.
Ms. Yang Chunlan from Tangjiazhuang Sub-district of Guye District was arrested at Beijiadian Market on the morning of December 5, 2024 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was released later that day.
The case against Ms. Han Jinhua from Caigoubao Town of Huai’an County, Zhangjiakou City, was recently submitted to the Lianhu District Court in Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province.
Ms. Li Hongjuan from Fate Town was arrested on December 1, 2024. The police also attempted to arrest Ms. Zhao Yanhua who was not at home. They ransacked Ms. Zhao’s home and confiscated several desktop calendars, Falun Gong books, cell phones, and other items. Ms. Zhao’s elder sister, a non-practitioner, was taken away and was released a little later.
