(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Huang Shaopu was scheduled to appear in the Xiangyang District Court at 9:30 a.m. on October 11, 2024.
The Yanji City Court scheduled a sentencing trial for Ms. Li Guifen, Ms. Chen Shuqin, and Ms. Ma Quimin at 1:30 p.m. on October 10, 2024. It’s not clear if the trial indeed took place or what the verdicts were.
Zhang Jianqiu of the Penglai District, gender unknown, was arrested on June 24, 2024, for talking to people about Falun Gong and has been detained ever since. Zhang’s case was submitted to the Penglai District Procuratorate on September 25, 2024. It was forwarded it to the Penglai District Court on September 27, 2024.
Ms. Xi Ping was arrested during a police sweep on September 23, 2024. She was released on bail the next day, after the detention center refused to admit her due to her poor health. The police arrested her again on October 8 in another attempt to detain her. She was still unfit for detention and was released on October 9.
Before the Chinese Communist Party’s October 1 National Day holiday, the authorities in Shanghai began to monitor local practitioners around the clock beginning at the end of September 2024. Both Mr. Liu Shunming and Ms. He Pingqin of Maqiao Town in the Minhang District, have been monitored since September 30, 2024.
Ms. Liu Cuihua was harassed at her clothing store by six people from the Yanjiang Police Station and Yanjiang Village Committee. They tried to force her to renounce Falun Gong but she refused to.
Yanjiang village committee officials returned a second time and tried to persuade her to give up Falun Gong. Because she remained firm, the officials harassed her son at his home. He refused to work with them to persuade Ms. Liu to change her mind.
