(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in Romania held an information day event and signature drive in the mountain town of Brasov on September 21, 2024. They introduced Falun Dafa to local residents and tourists, handed out brochures, and collected signatures on a petition aimed at stopping the persecution of Falun Dafa in China. This ongoing persecution was launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in 1999.

People from different backgrounds expressed their support for Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and emphasized the importance of promoting these principles widely. Practitioners hope that more people will become aware of the seriousness of the persecution.
Medical assistant Monica Pavel said that Falun Dafa should be promoted much more, because it is good for everyone.
Monica Pavel, a Gastroenterology nurse from Brasov, returned to the booth specifically to sign a petition against the persecution a few weeks after she received a flier. She also asked more questions about the practice of Falun Dafa.
“I read a leaflet a few weeks ago and was drawn by what it said about Falun Dafa. I was particularly interested in the principles of the practice,” she said. “The fact that there have been people persecuted means that this is a very important practice, which is the reason why some people are attacking its practitioners and trying to get rid of it. I think it is to our benefit to make use of it. Especially as long as it can be practiced for free, I would really be interested in practicing the exercises.”
Ms. Pavel also works in neurosurgery, and the doctor she works with sometimes recommends sports, meditation, and any alternative that would soothe and heal the body and prevent an operation.
She said it was important to promote Falun Dafa more to improve people’s health and benefit the society. “Falun Dafa should be promoted a lot more, in more parks, perhaps even here in the city center, because I am sure there would be people who would join in. I would join if it were here,” she added.
Clara Constantin, a graduate student studying at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies, said that Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are paramount values.
Clara Constantin, a graduate student at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest, learned more about Falun Dafa at the booth. She stated that a respect for moral values is essential and added, “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are paramount values; everyone should follow them.”
Clara said that the freedom of thought and speech are fundamental and inalienable human rights and Falun Dafa practitioners should not have their rights violated because of their beliefs. “Everyone is in charge of his or her own own life and we should not have someone else making decisions for us, neither mentally nor physically. Everyone has his or her own way of thinking, and their own way of perceiving things,” she said.
Clara feels that more attention should be given to human rights atrocities like the persecution of Falun Dafa. She said, “The persecution seems to me to be a totally disgusting and monstrous process, and I don’t agree with it at all. I don’t want these things to happen to anyone. I really wish this topic would be discussed more and paid attention to.”
Clara added her name to the petition and urged practitioners to persist in their outreach activities. “I wish you success and good luck,” she said. “I really hope that your efforts go as far as they can go and reach as many people as possible so that more people can be aware of what is actually happening around them. I really hope and strongly believe that all will be well.”
