(Minghui.org) Before I began to practice Falun Dafa, I had stomach problems and would have diarrhea if I had oily food or ate too much at night. My mother-in-law shared some folk remedies and told me to eat vegetables stir-fried with black pepper or meat braised in bamboo, but none of these remedies worked. Because I didn’t eat much and couldn’t digest food properly, I was malnourished and skinny. By the time I was 29, I had gum disease and my teeth started falling out. I could barely chew anything, which made my health worse.
I came across Falun Dafa in January 1999. That day I bought five Falun Dafa books and started reading them. After I became a practitioner, I no longer had diarrhea after eating oily food. I became healthy and gained weight.
In July 1999, six months after I became a practitioner, the Chinese communist regime launched the persecution. Every day there were lies on television and in newspapers slandering Falun Dafa. The authorities arrested a huge number of practitioners, beat them and locked them up to try to force them to renounce their faith. In such an evil environment, it didn’t occur to me to give up the practice. No one in my family tried to stop me from practicing—they are kind people and didn’t cooperate with the authorities who implemented the persecution.
A local practitioner was arrested in 2012 and, after being tortured, revealed my contact information. My oldest daughter was worried that the police would ransack my home and confiscate my Falun Dafa books, so she quickly put all the books in a bag and hid them in a safe place. She then got in touch with a practitioner she knew and moved all my printing equipment and Falun Dafa fliers to that practitioner’s place.
When the police came to my home, they found nothing they could use to incriminate me. They tried to persuade my daughter to give them more information about my practice but she refused to tell them anything. She was able to successfully protect Dafa books and equipment.
Some of the elderly practitioners I knew had to leave their homes to avoid being persecuted. Most of them didn’t have their ID cards and had a hard time finding work. They had no stable income but still had to pay rent. I knew their lives were hard and did my best to help them.
A practitioner came to stay with me for a few days in December 2022. My husband felt sorry for the practitioner and told me to give her some money and cook better food.
As it got close to the Chinese New Year holiday and every household was busy getting the New Year’s shopping done, my daughter’s heart went out to the destitute practitioners. She knew they couldn’t go home and had to spend New Year’s away from their loved ones. She reminded me to give them money, so they could still have a decent holiday.
I am deeply moved by my family’s kindness for practitioners who suffered in the persecution.
