(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
The case against Mr. Zhou Hongda and his wife Yang Dongxiang was submitted to the Wuchang District Procuratorate. Because the couple have been harassed constantly, they stayed away from home. Officers from the Dongting Police Station and staff members from the local sub-district office have been closely watching their son and daughter-in-law.
Ms. Du Yanrong lives in Dongluzhuang Village, Pingpu Town, Chiping District. She was arrested on July 19, 2023 and was held in the Liaocheng City Detention House.
Ms. He Hong from the Chaoyang District was arrested by officers from the Dongsheng Police Station on July 20, 2023. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Liang Yunju lives in Niutun Village, Liuji Town, Dong’a County. She was arrested in Acheng Town, Yanggu County on April 15, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong in a supermarket. She was sent to the Liangshui Town Detention Center in Liaocheng City.
Ms. Liu Suying from Wei County was arrested by officers in Guangling County on August 10, 2022 for distributing information about Falun Gong in Xiyixing Village, Guangling County. She was sentenced to 11 months in prison and was released from the Datong Detention Center on July 9, 2023.
Ms. Wang Yuhua was arrested in her workplace by two officers from the Chuncheng Street Police Station in Luyuan District on the morning of July 10, 2023. She was later released when some health issues were found during her physical exam.
Ms. Wang Yanmei lives in Huafangyicheng Community, Yaojiayuan, Chaoyang District. She was harassed at home by three officers from the Pingfang Police Station and five community security guards. They knocked on her door and made phone calls. Two security guards were assigned to watch her 24 hours a day. She was not allowed to go out.
Ms. Liu Xiuyun was harassed at home by officers from the Daqing Police Station around July 10, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and a computer.
Ms. Chi Suqin stayed in her son’s home in Xiwang Community. Officers from the Xiangshang Police Station and the Tumen City Police Department went her son’s home at 7 p.m. on July 21, 2023. They ransacked it and confiscated Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. Chi was arrested and taken to the police department.
Mr. Wang Yanming from the No. 10 Oil Production Plant was arrested by officers in the Gaoxin Development Zone on June 28, 2023. His home was ransacked. The police confiscated his Falun Gong books and several CDs. Mr. Wang was held in the No. 2 Detention Center of Daqing City.
Ms. Zhou Liangying was harassed at home by three people including Li Yuangang, deputy of Baihe Community Office and Huang Yuanqing on the afternoon of July 19, 2023. They tried to videotape her home but Ms. Zhou stopped them.
Ms. Cao Yumei, in her 50s, was arrested on the morning of July 21, 2023. Her home was ransacked.
Three people from the Wei County Police Department went to Ms. Zhang Yuwan’s home on the afternoon of July 15, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong's founder, a computer, cell phone, and other personal belongings. Ms. Zhang has now left home to avoid further persecution.
Ms. Peng Yingqiu lives in Xin Village, Chenshi Town, Shenzhou City. She was arrested by officers from the Chenshi Town Police Station on July 3, 2023 for posting information about Falun Gong online. She was detained for 12 days in the Shenzhou City Detention House.
Ms. Li Sulan and Ms. Li Zongxia were arrested by officers from the Yingquan Police Department on July 18, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Yu Hongying, 60, was sentenced to three and a half years in prison by the No. 2 Court of Chengdu Railway Transportation on June 12, 2023. She is currently detained in the Xichang City Detention Center.
Ms. Yu became seriously ill during her detention and was hospitalized for a week in January 2023. She was diagnosed with “grade 3 high blood pressure.” Her family recently applied for medical parole.
