(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held an event in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, on July 22, 2023. They called for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 24-year-long persecution of Falun Gong (which is also called Falun Dafa).
Practitioners set up a stand at the entrance of Meadows Park in Edinburgh. Their banners and display boards with “Falun Dafa is good” and “Stop Organ Harvesting from Living Falun Gong Practitioners” clearly conveyed their messages. Practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises as rain drizzled, and the scene drew the attention of an endless stream of pedestrians.
People signed the petition to show their support. Some expressed their sympathy for practitioners in China and said that this persecution should never have happened.

Sharon wishes to help stop the persecution.
Sharon is a nurse. She was across the road with her friends and was stunned when she saw the display board that said “Stop Organ Harvesting from Falun Gong Practitioners.” She and her friends came over to read the display boards more thoroughly. When she learned that organ transplants in China sometimes only have a few weeks’ wait time because the CCP has a living human organ bank, she repeatedly said, “This is terrible. It should not happen.” She signed the petition and said she wished to help stop the persecution.
A middle-aged man who came over to sign the petition said that he was drawn by the words “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” on the yellow jackets worn by practitioners. He learned that Falun Gong is beneficial to people’s physical and mental health. “Any persecution is unjustified, especially a peaceful group like yours,” he said.
A retired company owner said he was hearing about Falun Gong and the persecution for the first time. A practitioner explained that because the CCP promotes atheism, it persecutes people who have faith, including Uyghur Muslims, Tibetan Buddhists, and house church Christians. The man was quite appalled by the CCP’s live organ harvesting. After learning that the China Tribunal in London had made a final judgement based on its investigation, he thanked the practitioner for providing the information. He said that he would read the relevant information online.

Rosemary started to practice Falun Gong in June 1999. After the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Rosemary started to raise awareness and oppose the persecution. She has traveled all over the UK and Europe.
To rescue the persecuted practitioners in China, she went to Beijing with three other Western Falun Gong practitioners on February 13, 2002, and was preparing to go to Tiananmen Square to protest the CCP’s persecution by holding a banner. She was arrested by the CCP. She turned to the British embassy in China for help and was able to return home safely.
Rosemary said that for 24 years, practitioners have continuously raised awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong in China to people from all walks of life in the UK, and the British government already knows the persecution well. She hoped that the British government would speak up for Falun Gong in the international community.
