(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Eight practitioners were transferred from Jining Detention Center to the Jinan Woman’s Prison in early March 2023.
Ms. Li Huiping was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 18,000 yuan.Ms. Mi Jinying was sentenced to seven years in prison and fined 10,000 yuan.Ms. Xie Yugong was sentenced to five years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan.Ms. Hou Chengfu was sentenced to four years and six months in prison and fined 6,000 yuan.Ms. Li Xuxia and Ms. Hou Chengqin were sentenced to three years and six months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan.Ms. Chang Guifang was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 4,000 yuan.Ms. Wang Xiling was sentenced to two years and six months in prison and fined 4,000 yuan.
Wang Dezhen (gender unknown) lives in Liuguanying Village, Jiuzhou Town. Wang was arrested by officers from Gu’an County’s Chengdong Police Station for distributing Falun Gong flyers in the Gu’an County Open Market. The Bazhou Court sentenced Wang to three years in prison and fined Wang 10,000 yuan on February 8, 2023. Wang appealed to the Langfang Intermediate Court. The appeal has been accepted.
Ms. Zhang Chuanwen lives in Nankouqian Town. Fushun City’s Wanghua District Court secretly sentenced her on March 24, 2023. She is being held in the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City. She has appealed.
Ms. Long Nengying and Ms. Zhang Yingrong from Leiyang City talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Baisha Town, Changning City on April 8, 2023. Someone reported them and they were arrested by officers from the Baisha Town Police Station. The Changning City Police Department gave them 15 days of detention and made them undergo physical examinations in a hospital against their will. Officers brutally beat them when they did not comply.
Ms. Zhang was transferred to an undisclosed place in Hengyang City on April 20, 2023. Her family was not allowed to visit her.
Ms. Long was released on April 23, 2023.
Ms. Zhou Yanhong, in her 50s, is an employee of the Huidong County Cement Factory. She was arrested by Huidong County 610 Office agents and Domestic Security Division officers at around 8:00 p.m. on February 19, 2023. Officers ransacked her home, and seized her Falun Gong books, flyers, and other belongings. She is being held in the Huidong Detention Center.
Ms. Yu Jing was arrested on March 10, 2023, and is being held in the Jinzhou City Women’s Detention Center. Ms. Wang Yinghua was arrested at the same time.
Ms. Shen Bin went to the Aoping Town Open Market on April 20, 2023. Yang Shaoqi, the Aoping Town Comprehensive Management Office director, arrested her and took her to a local police station. She was later taken to the Fanjianglu Police Station in Pengzhou City. She was released that afternoon.
Mr. Zhang Peizeng, Ma Yun (gender unknown), and Ms. Gu Aimin were arrested on April 22, 2023.
Ms. He Ying from the Hengshan District was arrested in the Jiguan District Auto Repair Factory Open Market by community clerks on the morning of April 24, 2023.
Three practitioners from Faku County, Li Zhijie (gender unknown), Liu Chunjie (gender unknown), and Ms. Meng, were arrested by Wutaizi Police Station officers on April 23, 2023. Ms. Meng was released. Li and Liu are being held in an undisclosed place.
Ms. Wang Riqing of the Jinzhou District was arrested by two plainclothes officers and three officers from the Youyi Police Station when she entered a barber shop on April 25, 2023.
Ms. Wang Ying and Ms. Meng of the Kun District visited Zhang (first name and gender unknown) at Zhang’s home in the Donghe District on the evening of March 29, 2023. Officers from the Tiexi Police Station did a routine check at around 9:00 p.m. and arrested the three practitioners. Ms. Wang’s car was confiscated. It was finally returned to her family after they appealed multiple times.
Ms. Ma Yuequn, 61, sent the recently published article, “How Humankind Came To Be,” to other practitioners from her cell phone. An Internet police officer reported her. She was arrested by officer Jiang Huayong and others on March 4, 2023. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and other belongings. She is being held in the Xinyu Detention Center.
Li Defu (gender unknown) was arrested by plainclothes officers on April 22, 2023 when Li was telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Li was taken to the Suibei Police Station and was released that night.
Mr. Zou Yanming was arrested when he told people about the persecution of Falun Gong on April 14, 2023. He was detained for ten days and released on April 24, 2023.
A group of officers went to Ms. Ma Lijun’s jewelry store on the afternoon of April 20, 2023. She was not there. The officers arrested Song (first name and gender unknown) and seized Ms. Ma’s belongings as well as her corporate logos. Song was taken to the Zhongnanlu Police Station and released that day.
Four plainclothes officers dragged seventy-year-old Ms. Guo (first name unknown) into a car and drove her away on April 15, 2023.
Many practitioners were harassed and arrested after the Xiangyang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, 610 Office, and Domestic Security Division launched the “Door Knocking” campaign in March 2023. Ms. Wang Yulian, who lives in the Railway Compound in the Fancheng District, was arrested and detained for 15 days.
Tian Hui (gender unknown) from Yuanjiang City was arrested by local police officers in August 2022. They ransacked Tian’s home and seized several Falun Gong flyers and copies of Minghui Weekly. Due to medical issues, Tian was released. It is said that Tian will be tried in court within several days and will be sentenced to two years in prison with two years suspended. If Tian does not agree to a guilty plea, Tian will be sentenced to seven years in prison and the sentence will not be suspended.
Ms. Yuan Suxin, Ms. Sun Meiyan, and Liu Aidong (gender unknown) were arrested on the afternoon of April 17, 2023 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Police ransacked their homes that night and confiscated their belongings. Details are unknown. They are being held in an undisclosed location.
Ms. Liu Weifang lives in Ziluoliujia Village, Zhuqiao Town, Laizhou City. She was arrested on the afternoon of April 21, 2023.
Ms. Nie Xue was arrested by officers from the Kunmingjie Police Station on April 20, 2023 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Zhu Feizhen was arrested at home on April 6, 2023. She was admitted to the Fuzhou City Detention Center.
Ms. Zhou Ling was arrested at home by officers from the Jiulongpo District Police Department on April 21, 2023. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in an undisclosed location.
Ms. Xu Yingjie was called to the Yuqinghu Reservoir Police Station for questioning on February 28, 2023. The officers ordered her to sign papers. She refused. On March 24, she was arrested and was taken to the Police Hospital for a physical examination. That afternoon, she was taken to the Jinan Detention Center and given 15 days detention. On the evening of April 7, 2023, she was released on bail pending trial in the Yuqinghu Reservoir Police Station, and was released.
Ms. Zhu Xiyu was arrested for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong on March 12, 2021. She was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 4,000 yuan on September 8, 2021. She was released from prison on March 11, 2023.
Ms. Li Yuezhi was arrested by instructor Zhang Yungao and two other officers from the Huai’anchengzhen Police Station on February 23, 2023, for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They took her to the police station, ransacked her home, seized two copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, a desk calendar, flyers, and other belongings. They also tore down a couplet which was hung on her courtyard wall. Officers took her to the Hui’an County Police Department, made her sit in a metal chair, and interrogated her. They photographed her and had her undergo a nucleic acid test. She did not comply with any of their demands. They finally took her home.
