(Minghui.org) When I first started to practice Falun Dafa, I could only sit with my legs in the half-lotus position for a few minutes. Slowly, my sitting time increased to 30 minutes, while I also tried to sit in the full-lotus position. Eight months later, I was able to sit in the full-lotus position for 30 minutes and then extended it to one hour after another eight months.
I periodically slacked off. Then I encountered a sickness incident. I was fine during the day at work but felt sick after work. I vomited and had diarrhea on my way home. I felt awful by the time I got home and immediately went to bed. As I was dozing off, I became alert to the thought that I should not fall asleep without doing the seated meditation. After a while, I managed to get up and did the seated meditation. I told myself to keep doing the meditation for as long as I could. I stopped after 45 minutes. To my surprise, all my physical discomfort disappeared. I felt great. Since then, I always meditate for at least one hour.
When I first started to sit with my legs in the full-lotus position, I felt quite stiff. Although uncomfortable, I could still maintain good posture. After 30 minutes, the pain began to intensify. It felt like dozens of needles were piercing my legs. The pain was so excruciating that I involuntarily bent over. But I refused to end my meditation before the exercise music stopped. When the time was up, even uncrossing my legs was painful. However, my heart was light because I had eliminated some of the black substance.
Since cultivating Dafa, I understand that I had a lot of karma. I did a lot of killing when I was a kid and visited my grandpa in the countryside during the summer vacation. Those memories left a deep impression on me. I felt deep remorse and sorry for those animals. I knew I should bear the pain I caused.
Five years after I was able to sit in the full-lotus position, the pain I felt during the meditation changed. The pain had previously been on the “surface” of the body, including skin, bones, muscles, etc. It changed to radiate from the “inside.” As my endurance increased, I extended my time in meditation to 75 minutes. Then the pain usually started to intensify in the second half of the meditation, but sometimes it started before that. One time the legs started hurting after just 25 minutes, and it felt dreadful. I still had 50 minutes until the end. I forced myself not to think about it. After 45 minutes passed, my body felt like it had been deformed with severe pain. After 60 minutes, I trembled with pain. Although I wanted to uncross my legs, my hands were conjoined, and I could not release them. Vaguely, I thought about those animals who died because of me. They might still be miserable and have to wait a long time in their time field to be salvaged. I had to pay this back.
Trying to continue, with my hands conjoined, I grimaced in pain and lowered my head and neck under the strong pressure. The feeling of swelling and pain radiated from the legs. I felt that my legs were going to explode. Finally, it was 75 minutes. I rushed to put my right leg down with both hands. The right leg was as heavy as a 10,000-ton hydraulic press. I tried my best to lift the leg with both hands. I screamed and lost vision and hearing for a few seconds. It took a long time for me to recover.
Regardless of how painful the process was, when I stood up after the meditation, everything returned to its original shape, and my legs felt light. On weekends, I do the five sets of exercises in the morning, and then ride my bike to distribute Dafa fliers for two and a half hours.
Since October 2021, the pain continued when I sat in the lotus position during the meditation. However, I felt particles shaking gently around me, which relieved some pain and allowed me to maintain my posture as much as possible. I felt that my endurance had improved. Moreover, when I started to cross my legs, my body was not as stiff as before, and I could relax. At the end of the meditation, it was also not as difficult to uncross my legs.
After I increased the time of doing the seated meditation in the lotus position, there have been many miracles. Once, shortly after my hands were conjoined, I felt that a section of the right arm was empty; this phenomenon also occurred in my big toe. Another time the pain caused my waist to bend a little, and I suddenly felt a shock to my heart, like a pulse. The length of the shock felt about 10 centimeters, and my waist was instantly straightened by the shock. I felt very comfortable afterward.
I have practiced Dafa for 11 years. I frequently remind myself how fortunate I am to be a Dafa practitioner. Before I practiced Dafa, I was full of ordinary thoughts: wishing to have a lot of money, to live in a house with a good location, and to be famous. Since I practiced Dafa, I understood that everything in the world needs to be exchanged for virtue. So I can no longer do that. I just let nature take its course because my virtue is to be used to increase gong.
Although my financial situation is quite good, and I may still be able to live longer, these are not important. The important thing is that I have been rescued by Master. Master has arranged a path for me to go home and paid almost all the debts I owed. My virtue is not enough. So I need to accumulate virtue via cultivation and sitting in the lotus position in meditation. And if I improve my xinxing, I can increase my gong. I will keep Master's words in mind: study the Fa, improve my xinxing, and try my best to do the three things well.
