(Minghui.org) Practitioners held a rally and a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy in London on April 25, 2023, to mark the 24th anniversary of the April 25 Appeal. They called for an end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Dafa.
Practitioners held a rally and a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Embassy on April 25.
Practitioners held up banners that read: “Commemorate the 24th Anniversary of the April 25 Peaceful Appeal,” “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong,” and “Falun Dafa is good.” When evening came, they lit candles to commemorate their fellow practitioners who were tortured to death by the CCP since 1999.
The rally appealed to people to help stop this 24-year-long persecution. Many passersby stopped to learn about the persecution and signed a petition calling for the CCP to stop harvesting organs from practitioners while they are alive.
Brazilian musician Matheus Nova and his wife, who are active in the London music scene, stopped and asked, “Why is the CCP is still persecuting you?”
Mr. Nova said that the Chinese should be able to enjoy freedom of belief. He said he had seen practitioners protesting there for many years and thought it was amazing. He thought the British government should support them. He said, “I am a musician, and I often travel and perform in different countries. I know many people. I will tell them about this and support you.”
He said he thought it was great to believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and peacefully protest, because everyone should be a good person.
Tatiana from Ukraine was drawn by the exercise music and signed the petition. She said, “I truly understand your pain. Now we are also fighting for freedom. For freedom, love, and respect, we need to unite. It is too bad that some are deprived of the right to live and believe freely. Doing exercises in one’s spare time is a private matter. The persecution is brutal.”
She also said, “I am interested in such a peaceful exercise—I will check it out online. The world is so tense now, and wars are too cruel! We need such peaceful energy, to adjust our minds, and to do what we should do.”
