(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. You Yuxuan will be tried in the Chaoyang District Court at 9 a.m. on April 24, 2023.
She was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Dougezhuang Police Station in Chaoyang District on December 9, 2021. The officers confiscated a printer, a cell phone, and booklets. She is being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center.
Mr. Liu Chengzhu from Zhifang Sub-district, Jiangxia District, was arrested at his rented home by police officers in the district on April 18, 2023.
When Ms. Zhang Ruiping’s child opened the door to go to work, officers who had been waiting outside, rushed in and arrested her. They also ransacked her home.
Deputy head Li Yongming of Qiaotouying Village, Yiliang County, led four officers from the Nanyang Street Police Station, including residential officer Yang Dehong, to knock on the door at Ms. Lu Huizhi’s home around 7 p.m. on September 19, 2022. They asked to have a talk with her, videotaped the conversation, and searched the place.
On March 4, 2023, Li Yongming led Yang Dehong and others to Ms. Lu’s home again and knocked on the door. They asked to see the real estate certificate for her home. They asked her, “How did the ownership change on the certificate when the property changed hands? Where is your car parked?” They photographed her. Li Yongming also said that he would come to her home every month to check up on her.
Zhu Airong from the Xindian Sub-district, Linzi District, was arrested by the police at around 8 p.m. on April 18, 2023. The officers ransacked Zhu’s home and confiscated 300 paper bills with information about Falun Gong printed on them and dozens of copies of Minghui Weekly. Zhu was taken to the Zibo City Detention Center on April 19.
Ms. Qiang Xiaoxia from Fufeng County was reported to the police when she distributed Falun Gong materials around October 2022. She was arrested by officers from the Shuangzhao Town Police Station in Qindu District, Xianyang City. She later walked out of the police station.
On March 28, 2023, the police station received a report that a large number of Falun Gong printouts had recently been found. Four officers broke into Ms. Qiang’s home and ransacked the place. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and printed materials. She was taken to the Caihong Police Department in Xianyang City. She is being held in the Qindu District Detention Center.
Ms. Zhou Hailan was reported to the police and was arrested by officers from the Songzhangzi Town Police Station on August 2, 2022. She was held in the Chaoyang City Women’s Lockup Center. She was later officially placed under arrest and transferred to the Chaoyang City Women’s Detention Center. She was recently sentenced to one year in prison.
A group of people from the Hualoushuita Sub-district Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the sub-district 610 Office in Jianghan District, together with officers from the Shuita Police Station, broke into Ms. Yang Jiali’s home around April 6, 2023. They prevented her from moving and ransacked her home. They confiscated Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a computer, a printer, ink, paper, and other items. Ms. Yang was arrested and her whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. He Ziguang was arrested by officers from the Zhucheng City Domestic Security Division and was held in custody for 36 days. On the morning of April 19, 2023, the officers asked Mr. He’s family to make a payment to the police and sign paperwork, after which they would release him. His family did not pay the police and did not sign anything. Mr. He returned home that afternoon. He was placed under residential surveillance and had to report to the Domestic Security Division when he went out.
On the afternoon of April 4, 2023, He Chengjun, head of Yongchuan District Domestic Security Division, told Ms. Deng Huacheng of Yongchuan District to go to the court as required by the legal process. Ms. Deng refused to go, and He Chengjun threatened her. As a result, Ms. Deng left home and became displaced.
Ms. Zhao Qin, 68, from Shizhong District was followed by plainclothes officers when she distributed Falun Gong materials on March 7, 2023. She was arrested and taken to the Weibei Road Police Station in the Tianqiao District. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated some printed materials. Ms. Zhao is being held in Jinan City Detention Center.
At the end of 2022, five or six officers from the Weibei Road Police Station broke into 73-year-old Ms. Zhang Peiping’s home, arrested her, and ransacked the place. Ms. Zhang left home and became displaced. On March 26, 2023, the police station notified her son that if she did not go to the police station by the end of March, her release on bail would be revoked, and they would instead issue an arrest warrant.
Ms. Xu Yingjie, 57, from Huaiyin District, was arrested by officers from the Yuqinghu Reservoir Police Station in Huaiying District in late March 2023. She was held in the Jinan City Detention Center for 15 days. The day after Ms. Xu returned home from the detention center, officers from the police station forced her to go to the police station to sign paperwork.
Mr. Wang Jiwu and his wife from Gongchenghao Village, Handian Town, Shuangcheng District, were arrested at the gate of the residential community where they rented an apartment by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station in the Shuangcheng District at 6 or 7 p.m. on April 4, 2023. The couple is being held in the Shuangcheng District Detention Center. By April 9, Mr. Wang had been on a hunger strike for 16 days to protest the persecution. The detention center force-fed him every day, and he became emaciated. The police station planned to hand his case to the procuratorate for prosecution.
Mr. Wang Liyang was arrested at home by officers from the Xiangyang Sub-district Police Department on the evening of April 17, 2023. Further information is pending.
Ms. Chen Jinqing, 72, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Xinghua Street Police Station in the Tianhe District on the morning of February 24, 2023. She is being held in the Tianhe District Detention Center. She was officially placed under arrest.
Ms. Yin Jun of Baishan City was arrested on June 18, 2020, and taken to the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center. On May 24 and July 20, 2021, she was tried twice by the Chaoyang District Court and was sentenced to two years and ten months in prison. On April 18, 2023, Ms. Yin returned home after serving the prison term.
Ms. Xu Lina was released and returned home on April 19 after serving the prison term.
