(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Case Against Ms. Li Jinru and Ms. Liu Mingzhen Submitted to the Court

Ms. Li Jinru and Ms. Liu Mingzhen from Dachuan District were arrested on October 17, 2022, and their homes were ransacked. Ms. Liu Mingzhen has been held in the Dazhou City Detention Center since then. Ms. Li Jinru was detained until December 4, 2022 and then placed under residential surveillance for six months. Both practitioners received the indictment from the Dachuan District Procuratorate in January 2023. They were notified on April 14, 2023 that the cases against them had been filed in the Dachuan District Court.

2. [Yunmeng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Jinmei Arrested

Officers from the Yunmeng County Police Department went to Ms. Xu Jinmei’s home on the morning of April 13, 2023. They ransacked it and took Ms. Xu to the Yunmeng Detention House. She was placed under a 10-day detention. The police claimed that Ms. Xu was seen on surveillance cameras distributing information about Falun Gong.

3. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. Yue Yanping Arrested, Mr. Zhu Chuanxi Missing

Ms. Yue Yanping from Dancheng County, around 60, was deceived by officers to go to the county police department in February 2023 to pick up her Falun Gong books and photo of Falun Gong’s founder that the police confiscated. She was arrested and taken to the Zhoukou City Detention Center. She has since been detained there.

Mr. Zhu Chuanxi from Dancheng County, in his sixties, has been missing since the Chinese New Year. It is possible that he has been arrested.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Zou Yanming Missing

Zou Yanming from Nong’an County has been missing since April 14, 2023. It is possible that Zou was arrested.

5. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Xia Zhengneng Missing

Xia Zhengneng from Dongxin Farm has been missing since mid-February 2023. It is possible that Xia was arrested.

6. [Taikang County, Henan Province] Case Against Ms. Sun Wenxia Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Sun Wenxia from Taikang County has been placed under residential surveillance by the Nanguan Police Station since December 9, 2022. On April 17, 2023 she was told to go to the Procuratorate for further investigation.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Nan Tianju Arrested and Detained

Ms. Nan Tianju from Huangpi District was arrested at home by officers from the Hengdian Street Police Station on the afternoon of April 7, 2023. She was previously harassed multiple times. Ms. Nan is currently being held in the Dongxihu District Detention House.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Cen Hua Arrested and Detained

Ms. Cen Hua from Chaoyang District was arrested on April 14, 2023, and her home was ransacked. Her Falun Gong books and cell phone were confiscated. She is currently being held in the Chaoyang District Detention Center and her family members are not allowed to visit her.

9. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xilian Arrested and Detained

Ms. Wang Xilian from Zhangjiachan Town, Wendeng District was arrested by officers from the Wendeng District Police Department a few days ago. She was taken to the Wendeng District Detention House on April 13, 2023.

10. [Chongqing] Ms. Fu Zhongbi Arrested

Ms. Fu Zhongbi, 76, was sentenced to a three-year and three month prison term and fined 5,000 yuan by the Jiangbei District Court last year. She was then taken to the Fusheng Detention Center but was denied admission due to her high blood pressure.

Ms. Fu was arrested again at her son’s home by officers including Yang Ge from the Xiantao Police Station in Yubei District on April 14, 2023. She was taken to have a physical exam, and then taken to the Fusheng Detention Center. She was denied admission due to the results of the physical examination.

11. [Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Shangkun Arrested

Ms. Liu Shangkun was arrested at her home at No. 1601, No. 500 Lane, Meiping Road, Luodian Town, Baoshan District, on March 7, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings, including two Falun Gong books, two Kindle book readers, one Apple laptop computer, two iPhones, two Samsung cell phones, one iPad, two Smartisan cell phones, and a mobile hard disk. Ms. Liu was detained until April 3, 2023. The police kept her Falun Gong books, the two Kindles, and the mobile hard disk. The other items were returned to her.

12. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhao Lihong Persecuted

Ms. Zhao Lihong from the Economic and Technological Development Zone, was arrested by officers from the Fulai Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at Fulai Mountain Park on April 17, 2022. She was later released on bail for one year, pending trial. Her case was submitted to the Procuratorate on June 8, 2022 and then to the court in August 2022. After Ms. Zhao was informed that she would be tried in court on February 6, 2023, she left the home to avoid further persecution.

13. [Beijing] Mr. Lu Sumin Summoned to Police Station

Officers including Zhao Tongqing from the Dongxinfang Police Station went to Mr. Lu Sumin’s home on April 11, 2023 and summoned him to the Mentougou District Procuratorate because his bail pending trial for one year would be over. Mr. Lu’s blood pressure was over 200 and he did not go.

14. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zou Yanming Missing and Mr. Pan Gang Arrested

Mr. Zou Yanming has been missing since April 14, 2023. Mr. Pan Gang was arrested and his home was ransacked.

15. [Wangcang County, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Xiufeng Arrested

Ms. He Xiufeng from Vegetable Village, Wangcang County, was arrested on April 14, 2023. Her son and his family live in another place. No one was at home when she was arrested.

16. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Jun Arrested and Detained

Mr. Li Jun from Puxin Town and another practitioner were arrested by officers in the Dianbai District. His home was ransacked. The police confiscated his computer, Falun Gong books, a MP3 audio player, a DVD player and some DVDs with Falun Gong information. Mr. Li has been detained in the No. 2 Detention Center of Dianbai District for over two months.

17. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Guangfen Arrested

Ms. Wang Guangfen was arrested in Beijing where her daughter’s family lives, on January 27, 2023. The police ransacked the home and confiscated a cell phone and a media player. She was taken to the police station in Haidian District for interrogation. Ms. Wang was released on bail pending trial for one year later that day.
