(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Li Yan was arrested at home by four plainclothes officers from the Shahe Police Station in Changping District on the evening of March 8, 2023. She was placed in criminal detention. On March 10, she was taken to the Nankou Town Detention Center, where she was held for one month until April 8. The police said that she was caught on surveillance cameras when distributing nine printouts with Falun Gong content on them.
The officers confiscated a computer, three Falun Gong books, and a cell phone. Ms. Li was interrogated three times by Shunyi District Domestic Security Division staff.
Ms. Hu Suhua, 69, was arrested at home by officers from the Yanxi Town Police Station on the afternoon of February 23, 2023. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was taken to a detention center. Ms. Hu’s family made several inquiries through various channels, but only learned that she was placed in criminal detention. She was detained more than 20 days ago (at the time of this report), but her children have not been able to visit her.
Ms. Yang Mei’e was reported to the police by a villager while distributing Falun Gong materials in Qu’an Township on March 10, 2023. She was taken to the Sanyuan County Police Department by township government personnel and is being held in the Sanyuan County Detention Center.
Ms. Qi Yuling and Ms. Liu Yuhong from Jimo District were arrested by officers from the Mashan Police Station on February 25, 2023. They were placed in criminal detention and held in the Pudong No. 2 Detention Center.
Ma Pingjun (gender unknown) from Weidong District was arrested on the bus on the afternoon of March 14, 2023. The officers ransacked Ma’s home that evening and confiscated Falun Gong books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ma is being held in the detention management sub-team of the Pingdingshan Police Department.
When Ms. Wu Qiuqin and another practitioner posted Falun Gong materials around 7 p.m. on February 15, 2023, they were caught on surveillance cameras. Officers from the Hudai Police Station tracked them down and arrested them. They ransacked both practitioners’ homes and confiscated computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and a few paper bills with information about Falun Gong printed on them. Ms. Wu was held in the Wuxi City Detention Center and released on bail on March 17. The other practitioner returned home after being detained in a drug rehabilitation center for 15 days.
Ms. Chen Mingbi, in her 80s, was reported to the police while telling people about Falun Gong at the Xinshichang Bus Station in Chuanshan District at 10 a.m. on March 5, 2023. Ms. Chen was arrested and her home was ransacked. After the police interrogated her, she returned home at around 1 p.m. that day.
Ms. Cao Chunyan from Hanconggou Town was arrested on March 7, 2023. She has returned home.
Mr. Liu Fengbao was arrested by officers from the Zhengyang Police Station on March 6, 2023. The officers took the keys to Mr. Liu’s home and garage, searched them, and confiscated two audio players. He was detained for 10 days and returned home on March 16.
Ms. Li Caili and her daughter Ms. Jing Shuhe were arrested by officers from the Qingduizi Town Police Station while telling people about Falun Gong at the Qingduizi Town farmers market on March 6, 2023. The officers ransacked their homes, found nothing, and released them. The next day, the officers went to Ms. Jing’s home and asked her to sign paperwork.
Dai Xiuhua (gender unknown) was arrested on March 12, 2023.
Ms. Jing Yuling, Ms. Liu Yuhong, Ms. Jiang Yongying, and Ms. Jiang Ruhong, from Jimo District, were arrested at the end of February 2023 while they were reading Zhuan Falun, Falun Gong’s main book.
Ms. Dong Chunbo, 61, and Ms. Wu Guizhi, 81, were arrested by officers from the Ning’an City No. 4 Police Station and the Wolong Police Station on March 10, 2023. Ms. Jiang Meiling, in her 40s, was arrested by officers from the Wolong Police Station and her work unit officials on March 10. It was reported that Heilongjiang Province Political and Legal Affairs Committee personnel conducted a brainwashing session before releasing the two practitioners that day.
On March 13, Ms. Dong and Ms. Jiang were arrested again and taken to the Ning’an City Detention Center. The police notified their families that they would be detained for 11 days.
Ms. Zhu Fangxia was arrested on March 7, 2023, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She is being held in the Maoming City Detention Center.
Zhou Yangsheng (gender unknown), 80, from Group No. 11 of Maziling Village in Guanjiazui Town, Qidong County, was reported to the police for distributing information about Falun Gong. Zhou was arrested by officers from Guanjiazui Town Police Station at 11:30 a.m. on March 13, 2023. Zhang Bolin, 70, from Group No. 4 was arrested the following day.
Zhang Xinfa (gender unknown), 72, was arrested at 11 a.m. on March 14. The officers confiscated a TV set, a digital camera, a satellite receiver, Falun Gong books, and personal belongings. Zhang’s whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Shi Wenzhuo was arrested by officers from the Tumenling Police Station in the Jiutai District on the afternoon of March 16, 2023.
It was reported that six officers went to the property management office of the residential community where Mr. Shi lives, at 7 a.m., and asked to check the surveillance videos. When Mr. Shi came out to drop trash in a dumpster, he was spotted by people via surveillance cameras, and two officers arrested him. The officers confiscated a photo of the founder of Falun Gong and a Falun Gong book.
On March 17, officer Sheng from No. 1 Criminal Police Division in Changchun City called Mr. Shi’s family and told them that he had been taken away.
