(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 25 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Liu Dongmei was arrested by officers including Zhang Xiaoyi, head of the Suifenhe City Domestic Security Division, on February 17, 2023 when she was distributing information about Falun Gong. Her home was then ransacked, and many personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Liu was sent to the Mudanjiang City Detention Center. She was officially arrested by the Hailin City Procuratorate on March 28, 2023.
Yang Chunrong from Banan District was scheduled to be tried in the Jiulongpo District Court at 10 a.m. on March 31, 2023.
Ms. Lu Xiufeng from Yi Village was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Dianzi Town Market, and was arrested by officers from the Dianzi Town Police Station in early April 2021. There are no updates about her current situation.
Seven practitioners were arrested around March 6, 2023. Three practitioners, including Huang Yibin, over 79, Ms. Zhu Yugui, 85, and Gong Shangjian, over 80, were arrested when they used paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong to purchase items. Their homes were ransacked, and personal belongings including computers, cell phones, and over 4000 yuan in cash were confiscated. Four practitioners, including Zeng Shangjian, Tan Ping, over 70, Zhu Dahua and Liu, over 70, were also arrested. It was learned that Huang Yibin, Tang Ping, and Liu have been incarcerated in the Huayan Detention Center in the Jiulongpo District.
Liu Chuanrong and Zhu Yuxia were arrested downstairs in the building where Liu Chuanrong lives, by officers from the Kuancheng District Police Department, the West Square Police Station, and the Dehui City Police Department, on the morning of March 3, 2023. It was learned that the cell phones of the two practitioners had been monitored by police for a long time.
Zhu Yuxia was detained for nine days in the West Square Police Station but was released on March 11, 2023 after being denied admission by the Changchun City Detention Center due to the results of a medical examination. Liu Chuanrong was detained in the Changchun Detention Center.
Mr. Zhang Mingde was arrested at home by officers from the Bozi Street Police Station on March 21, 2023, and his home was ransacked. The police confiscated many Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and a computer. Mr. Zhang was detained in the police station for two days and was then transferred to the Changsha City Detention Center.
Ms. Wang Guixian, 68, lives in Yu Village, Pantian Town, Wen County, Jiaozuo City. She was arrested by officers including Wang Mingrui, head of the Pantian Town Police Station, on March 19, 2023.
Ms. Wang has been detained for a total of ten years because she persisted in her belief in Falun Gong. She has been arrested and detained numerous times in detention centers, detention houses, and brainwashing centers. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor because she went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Gong. She was sentenced to three years in prison in 2015 for suing former Chinese Communist Party head Jiang Zemin for persecuting Falun Gong. She suffered a lot while imprisoned, and was emaciated when she was released. A surveillance camera was installed to monitor her home after her release.
Ms. Dong Lihua was arrested at home by officers from the Huachang Police Station and the Tuqiao Town Police Station on the morning of March 8, 2023. She was taken for a medical examination, and was denied admission to the Yushu City Detention House. She was released that afternoon.
Ms. Fu Jinfeng formally worked at the Nanchang Central Blood Station. She was arrested on October 17, 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong, and was later sentenced to one year and four months in prison. Ms. Fu was released from the No. 1 Detention Center on February 16, 2023.
Ms. Zhang Peiping, 73, was recorded by surveillance cameras when she was distributing information about Falun Gong in the dormitory of the National Cotton Factory in Tianqiao District in October 2022. Several officers went to her home and arrested her in early 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated a set of Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, numerous informational materials, wall posters, two printers, a laptop computer, etc. Ms. Zhang was detained in the Weibei Road Police Station in Tianqiao District for one day and one night. She was denied admission to the detention center due to high blood pressure and was released on bail pending trial the next day.
Ms. Zhang’s son was threatened by officers in the Weibei Road Police Station on March 26, 2023. He was told that Ms. Zhang’s bail would be void if she didn’t report to the police station at the end of the month, and she would be put on the CCP’s wanted list.
Two practitioners from Huanren County, Ms. Niu Yan and Ms. Song Yuemei, were arrested by three officers on March 16, 2023 when they were distributing information about Falun Gong. Ms. Song has been released. Ms. Niu is still detained.
Dong Zicheng from Shenhe District, over 20, was arrested around March 10, 2023. It is unknown where Dong is detained. This is the second time Dong was arrested.
Ms. Feng Guihua, 74, was arrested at home by officers from the Huantong Police Station in the Dongchang District on March 20, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, calendars, MP5 player, etc. Ms. Feng was denied admission to the Tonghua City Detention Center due to the results from her medical examination. She was released on bail after her son paid 3000 yuan.
Ms. Li Xiuyun was arrested at home by officers from the Fendou Police Station in the Jinlin District on July 8, 2022. She was sentenced to one year and ten months in prison by the Jinlin District Court on November 22, 2022. During the investigation process, the police fabricated “evidence” and forcibly held her hand to obtain her fingerprints.
Three practitioners, Ms. Zhang Chunmei, Ms. Wang Yanqiu, and Ms. Tang Xufeng, were arrested at Ms. Zhang Chunmei’s home by officers from the Liumao Police Station and the Hengshan District Police Department on July 27, 2022. Ms. Wang Yanqui and Ms. Tang Xufeng were detained for 15 days. Ms. Zhang Chunmei was placed under official arrest on August 10, 2022. Her case was submitted to the Jidong County Court and she was tried on December 1, 2022. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to eight months in prison and fined 2000 yuan.
