Intimidation Cannot Stop Me from Clarifying the Truth

March 4, 2023 |   By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Shandong Province, China

(Minghui.org) A police van stopped in front of my family’s bathhouse business at 8:00 a.m. on November 15, 2015. Five officers got out and entered the empty lobby, as my son was working in the boiler room in the back.

The officers went straight to the second floor but saw no one. They came back to the lobby on the first floor where my son had returned. The lead officer asked him, “Did your family file a lawsuit against [former CCP leader] Jiang Zemin?” “Yes!” my son replied.

My son then explained the factual and legal basis for why we filed the lawsuit, and that suing Jiang Zemin was a constitutional right protected by law. My son then said, “Please show me your IDs and legal papers.” The officers did not know what to say, and one of them took out his cell phone to call their superiors for instructions.

When my son headed toward the front door to greet a customer, an officer slipped behind him and pushed him out the door. The other four rushed outside and tried to take my son away.

He yelled at the officers, and they turned around and ran 90 yards away. My son chased after them and shouted, “Don’t you dare come back! I’ll report you to your superiors!” They got back in the van and drove away.

I thought about this incident for a day and decided to go to the City Disciplinary Inspection Department, the Police Department, the District Police Department, and the local police station to clarify the truth. It went well at the first three departments, and I received satisfactory answers from all of them.

I went to the police station three times, however, without being able to meet the director in person. So I wrote three letters to him, in which I explained that Jiang Zemin’s persecution of Falun Dafa was a violation of several laws and regulations, as well as a violation of the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

I emphasized that, as the National Civil Service Law states, civil servants who blindly carry out wrongful orders from their superiors should also be held legally responsible.

I included the following true story in the third letter:

“Someone told me on September 12, 2009, that Mr. Wang, the Chief of the National Security Bureau in the District Police Department, was diagnosed with liver cancer and admitted to the People’s Hospital.

“I knew Mr. Wang as early as 2007 because he ransacked my home and took my computer, car, and more than 20,000 yuan in cash. He also confiscated my eldest son’s medical license, making it impossible for him to practice medicine.

“I clarified the truth to him on three occasions, with the longest encounter lasting two hours. I told him that everyone has to bear the consequences for their words and actions and that good is rewarded and evil incurs punishment. My words were well-reasoned and sincere, but he ignored me and was intent on persecuting us.

“After I heard that Mr. Wang had incurred retribution for his bad deeds, I decided to visit him in the hospital and tell him to confess his sins to God and the Buddha while he was still alive, as there might be hope if he would acknowledge ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’

“The next day, September 13, Mr. Wang burst into tears as soon as he saw me enter his ward. I said, ‘I came to see you!’ I handed him a truth-clarification booklet and urged him to read it. He couldn’t stop shedding tears of remorse while saying, ‘It’s too late, it’s too late, It’s over!’

“At this point, a plainclothes police officer who monitoring Mr. Wang shouted at me, ‘Who are you? What’s your name? Get away!’ I looked at his face twisted in anger, told him my name, and left.

“I came home at 9:00 a.m. the next day and saw nine police officers standing in the courtyard with my daughter and husband. A tall officer asked me, ‘Where did you go yesterday?’ ‘To the People’s Hospital,’ I replied calmly.

“When he asked why, I told him I’d gone to see Mr. Wang.

“‘How did you know he was at the People’s Hospital? Who told you that?’ I replied, ‘I’m not telling you.’

“I then turned around and walked out of the courtyard, intending to draw the police officers into the street so that the people in the village could see them harassing me. I knew the police would come to my home when I left the People’s Hospital, so I had already thought of a plan.

“When they caught up with me about 50 yards away. I shouted, ‘Falun Dafa is good!’ five times at the top of my lungs before getting in the police van.

“I sat face to face with three officers in the station. The one on the left held up a miniature video camera, opposite me was the tall officer, and another officer in his 40s was on the right. I broke the silence and asked the tall officer who was staring at the ceiling, ‘Why are you so quiet?’

“He didn’t know what to say, so I continued, ‘I am retired from the People’s Hospital, and I can enter any ward or office. What law did I break by visiting Mr. Wang?’ The tall officer asked why I had gone to see Wang. I said, ‘I wanted to save him.’ He sneered, ‘Ha! You wanted to save him? Even the doctors can’t do anything about his condition.’

“I said, ‘True, I cannot save him, but the great Buddha Fa can do anything! Unfortunately, your people kicked me out and I didn’t have a chance to tell Mr. Wang how to help himself.’

“The room was once again silent, so I said, ‘Good will be rewarded and evil will be punished.’ The tall officer suddenly rose from his chair and pointed at me, ‘You are cursing me!’

“‘I’m not cursing you,’ I said. ‘I’m telling the truth, the Divine Principle. If you’re innocent and I say bad things about you, I will suffer retribution; if you have sinned, there is no need for me to curse you, because heaven will punish you.’ There was silence again.

“‘It is a heavenly law that good deeds are rewarded and evil is punished, and no one is exempt.’ At this point the officer on the left said, ‘I’m video recording you!’ I responded, ‘I know. Thanks!’ I then gave my opinion on why Mr. Wang was incurring retribution from the perspective of common sense and the law.

“I added that I hoped the three officers present would learn from Mr. Wang’s lessons and not behave like him for the sake of their families and future. I hoped they would fully understand the truth about Falun Dafa and read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in order to make the right choice.

“At this point, the tall officer politely said, ‘You can go home now’ and graciously offered to give me a ride. In the van, he handed me a bottle of water and said, ‘You must be thirsty after talking for so long.’ I accepted the water and drank it all.

“As I was getting out of the van at home, I said to the three officers, ‘Please remember “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” and you will be blessed.’

“Many people in the District Police Department have watched the entire video of this incident. Someone named Zhu asked me how I spoke so well. I told him I was just telling the truth.

“It is particularly worth mentioning that someone in charge at the District Police Department, the director of the local police station, and three police officers came to my door to express their goodwill on the morning of November 11, 2011. I figured they came to see what I was like after watching the video of the incident.

“My daughter and my husband were also present that day, and I asked my daughter to serve them a plate of our local specialty produce—green radishes—and a pot of green tea to welcome them. To make their trip memorable, I sang a truth-clarification song for them that I had just composed.

“As I was singing, ‘Heaven is going to destroy the Chinese Communist Party; a great catastrophe is around the corner. Quit the Party, Youth League, and Young Pioneers to be safe,’ the person in charge of the District Police Department sitting across from me started shaking. I knew it was because a piece of bad substance was being removed from him in another dimension. I was very pleased.

“As they were leaving my house, both officials said they would come to see me again in the future.”

Since I sent those three letters, no police officers have come to my house to harass me. When I ran into them a few times on the street, we waved and greeted each other in a friendly manner.
