(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners often share cultivation experiences and remind each other of their omissions in cultivation. Local practitioners have shared their experiences and learned some lessons from each other, which I would like to share.
Master said,
“Study the Fa and gain the Fa,Focus on how you study and cultivate,Let each and every thingbe measured against the Fa.Only then, with that,is it actually cultivation.”(“Solid Cultivation”, Hong Yin)
During the sharing, practitioners understood that whenever we encounter things that affect our xinxing, we should use the Fa of Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) to measure ourselves, find our omissions and try our best to rectify them. Otherwise, we may fall into a state where we are controlled by human notions and attachments that can lead us to deviate from cultivation.
A practitioner in our region has memorized and recited Zhuan Falun more than 20 times. We asked him whether he could remember the relevant Fa in Zhuan Falun when encountering issues. He said he couldn’t, and later had sickness karma for over a year. This reminded us that we must use the Fa we’ve studied to guide our actions in everyday life.
Some practitioners have their celestial eyes open and can see other dimensions. We understand that illusions and false appearances should not be confused with Dafa cultivation, and we should judge things only based on Dafa. If we can’t tell the difference, we may not be in line with the Fa when doing things and may make judgments that deviate from the Fa.
I came into contact with some young practitioners who were tempted by fame and fortune when choosing a career. They fell into everyday people’s ways of competition and almost missed the opportunity to cultivate. We should not prevent young practitioners from choosing their career, but we suggest that practitioners remind them that they should not forget Master’s teachings and that our path is arranged by Master, which is the most suitable way for us.
For example, a local practitioner couldn’t decide whether she should go back to her hometown. She talked to a practitioner about her situation. This practitioner told her, “If you go back to your hometown to help Master rectify the Fa and save sentient beings, it’s right to go back. If you choose not to go back for the same reason, then it is also right. However, if we decide whether to go back based on our personal interests, then that is wrong and is not in line with the Fa.”
Master said,
“Since every one of you is cultivating Zhen, Shan, Ren, you should be a good person in every circumstance. If you see his shortcomings and see when he can’t move upward, why not point them out to him kindly?” (Teachings at the Conference in Canada)
It is a manifestation of kindness and a sense of responsibility when Dafa practitioners point out each other’s shortcomings. When practitioners’ thoughts are not righteous or they forget their responsibilities, other practitioners should remind them from their hearts, just like clarifying the truth to sentient beings. It is a completely selfless and kind action to help fellow practitioners find their shortcomings. Whether the practitioner accepts it nor not, we still need to be helpful and compassionate.
When a fellow practitioner discovers other practitioners’ shortcomings and kindly points them out to them, they may not be able to accept it due to their present cultivation level. But they should feel the sincerity and kindness of the practitioner.
I realized my shortcomings and unrighteous state after studying Master’s Fa. If we are too attached to the practitioner’s shortcomings while trying to point it out to them, it may play a negative role or even create a gap between practitioners. The reminder is only the first step in uncovering the problem. In addition, reminding others does not preclude ourselves from looking inward. We should reflect on ourselves according to the Fa and check whether we have similar issues.
Moreover, we should get rid of the fear of offending others. Fear is also an attachment and should be eliminated. We cannot let fear prevent us from reminding fellow practitioners when they need help in cultivation. We should be more afraid of fellow practitioners walking away from the cultivation path. If we pay attention to every practitioner, we are paying attention to the whole body, and we are being selfless and responsible to fellow practitioners.
When reminding other practitioners, we need to observe the other party’s receptivity during the conversation, instead of saying everything on our minds without first considering the other party’s ability to accept it.
Studying the Fa well and continually improving within the Fa is the guarantee for us to find a practitioner’s knot quickly and remind them accordingly. In addition, if we use the Fa to measure our own thoughts and actions, and continually look inward, it will be more effective in helping other practitioners.
I would like to emphasize that our cultivation improvement is based on studying the Fa well, using the Fa to measure our thoughts and actions, truly looking inward to rectify ourselves, and helping Master to rectify the Fa and save sentient beings. It is not achieved by others constantly reminding us.
