(Minghui.org) My younger brother is a Falun Dafa practitioner. When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the persecution of Falun Dafa in 1999, he was in his 20s and already a middle-level manager where he worked in Beijing.

At the beginning of the persecution, his supervisors took turns pressuring him to give up Dafa. One day, two men from the CCP committee where he worked took a portrait of Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, and a picture of the Falun (Law Wheel) from my brother’s dormitory.

Then they called him to their office and threatened to strip him of his CCP membership and fire him if he did not stop practicing Dafa. The atmosphere was tense until the door swung open and a man in his 50s rushed in. He exclaimed, “This is a good young man!” and began to list my brother’s accomplishments and virtues.

My brother was shocked: They hardly knew each other, so why did that man take the risk to protect him? The man assured my brother, “It’s not a big deal. Don’t be afraid of them!” In his voice was the tone of justice of an honest man. The atmosphere in the office instantly relaxed.

The man walked over to the table where the photo of Master Li and the Law Wheel picture were, rolled them up, and said, “I’ll hang these up at home!” Stunned by his audacity, the two men rushed over and grabbed the pictures from him.

My brother was demoted but never wavered in his faith in Dafa. However, his co-workers began to shun him, and nobody dared talk to him. So the man came to help him again. He invited my brother to dinner and showed him a poem he wrote, the last two lines were, “If China wants to prosper it must protect “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance!”

My brother later recalled, “Although so many years have passed, I still remember that incident vividly. In that tense and frightening situation, a non-practitioner dared to stand up for a Dafa practitioner and even tried to protect Dafa materials. He was truly amazing!”

When I heard this story, I was full of admiration for that man. When the persecution began, the CCP blanketed the media with rumors and slander about Falun Dafa. The army, police, and plainclothes agents were all over the streets arresting Dafa practitioners. The persecution was even more intense in Beijing, the capital. Yet, oblivious to the terror permeating every corner in the city, this Beijing native dared to brazenly resist government repression and support Falun Dafa. He was indeed phenomenal!

Fortunately, this Beijing man was not alone. There are many others who also have the courage to stand with justice and protect practitioners. Some are company leaders who choose not to report their employees to the police and some protect Dafa books and materials.

If there were more righteous people like this man, the persecution would definitely be over.
