(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

Ms. Huang You from Zhanjiang City was arrested by officers from the Yangang Police Station in February 2022 when she talked to people about Falun Gong in Shenzhen City. She was released on bail and escorted back to Zhanjiang City.
The Yantian District Procuratorate called Ms. Huang’s daughter recently and said they received the case against her mother. They requested Ms. Huang come to the Procuratorate for questioning.
Mr. Xu Fangquan of Jinan, Shandong Province, was arrested by the local police in January 2022 while visiting relatives in Jiangsu Province and distributing information about Falun Gong. He was scheduled to be tried on February 24, 2023, by the Haizhou District Court in Lianyungang City.
Ms. Zhang Cuiying, 58, from Shaozhuangzi Village, Yangezhuang Town, Leting County, was arrested by officers from the Yangezhuang Police Station. She is currently being held in the Tangshan City No. 1 Detention Center. Her family recently learned that the case against her was submitted to the Luannan County Court in Tangshan City. Family members were not allowed to observe the trial.
Du Sen, an officer from the Sunwu County Domestic Security Division led some officers from the Sunwu County Police Station, and some community clerks to break into Ms. Qu Yongxia’s home on September 15, 2022. They ransacked it and confiscated her Falun Gong books and laptop computers.
On the same day, the police broke into Ms. Zhang Guifang’s home. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, MP3s, and cell phone. She was arrested.
The police then broke into Ms. Zhang Guifang’s daughter’s home. They confiscated some Falun Gong books, printers, her child’s computer, and a drawing board. Ms. Zhang was later released on bail.
Two other practitioners, whose names are unknown, were detained during the Chinese New Year.
In early January 2023, Mr. Luo Xuan and his mother were arrested by officers from the Zigong Domestic Security Division. They were later released on bail. Mr. Luo was arrested again on January 19, 2023.
Shao Mingke, chief of the Zhangcun Police Station in Hui County, and officer Yang Zhongfa arrested Mr. Yang Jinhan on April 25, 2022. They took Mr. Yang to the psychiatric department of Baiquan Town Health Center. Mr. Yang was released on January 10, 2023.
Ms. Zhou Liwen, a teacher at the 66th Middle School, was detained at the Jimo Detention Center in October 2022. She was sent to the Jinan Women’s Prison a few months later. Her family was not allowed to visit her.
In February 2023, Ms. Li Jingxian, 66, was harassed and had her purse searched when she took a train in Zaoshi Town.
Ms. Wang Zaiqing took a train with her grandson to her son’s house in Zhejiang Province. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was harassed on the train and detained in Shanghai for some days.
Luo Jiayun (gender unknown) and Ms. Wen Liping were harassed on the train from Wuhan back to Zaoshi Town.
Ms. Liu Guibi, 81, was arrested by the local police because she talked to people about Falun Gong on February 16, 2023. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Gong book was confiscated.
She was released at midnight that day.
About 6 to 7 people from the Shuitu Town Police Station and some community clerks went to Ms. Liu’s home again on February 17, 2023. They said she was placed under residential surveillance.
Ms. Cong Xiuxia and her sister were arrested by two plainclothes police officers from the Wangtuan Police Station in Wangtuan Town when they distributed information about Falun Gong at a fair on February 21, 2023.
Ms. Hu Yawen, from Jiutai District, was arrested by four to five police officers on February 21, 2023. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Zhen Guangtian (gender unknown), from Shuangcheng District, was arrested in Xuejia Town.
Mr. Zhang Haitao, 36, a former software developer at a company in Inner Mongolia, was forced to quit his job because he told his boss about the persecution. He went to work in Tianjin in early 2022.
Officers from the Zhangjiawo Police Station, Xiqing District, and the Xiqing Police Department Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Zhang on March 8, 2022. His home was ransacked that night.
He was released on bail after paying 1,000 yuan on March 9, 2022.
Ms. Liu Huiping was detained for fifteen days on September 26, 2022. She was placed in criminal detention on October 12, 2022.
Ms. Liu was officially arrested on October 21, 2022. The case against her was submitted to the Yongxiu County Procuratorate. Two weeks later it was sent to the Yongxiu County Court.
Ms. Liu’s family said she had a court hearing on February 24, 2023, at the Jiujiang City Detention Center.
