(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Mr. Huang Zhufeng was scheduled to be tried online in No.1 Detention Center by the Maonan District Court at 9:30 a.m. on February 23, 2023.
Ms. Cheng Weiping was taken away by four officers from the Yong’an Police Station and the Xian’an District Police Department at noon on February 15, 2023. She was reported to police for talking about Falun Gong in January 2023. Ms. Cheng was placed under 15-day detention and was sent to a detention center.
Ms. Wang Lihua, in her 60s, was arrested on the evening of February 17, 2023.
Ms. Sha Shuyan from Hulan District, in her 70s, was reported to police for talking about Falun Gong to a guard in front of the Hulan Chinese Medicine Hospital. She was arrested by officers from the Yuanye Police Station on February 1, 2023. She was first detained in the police station and was later transferred to the Harbin City Detention Center. She was told she would be held there for three months.
Lu Jichao (gender unknown) from Fuyu County was arrested at the Qiqihar City Railway Station. Ms. Wang Meiqing was later arrested at her home in Shaowen Township. Her home was ransacked. The two practitioners were released on bail pending trial.
Ms. Dong Guifeng from Fuyu County stays in her son’s home in Beijing. She was harassed there by local police officers and local community staff members.
Liu Zhongmin (gender unknown) from Chang’an Township in Bin County was arrested on December 31, 2023. Liu was released on February 13, 2023.
Mr. Yan Wencheng from Wujiawa was arrested by officers from the Chengbei Police Station around February 7, 2021. The police ransacked his home and confiscated a laptop, his Falun Gong books, desk calendars, etc. Mr. Yan was taken to the police station and was released two hours later.
Mr. Yan was arrested again two or three days later. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Wang Ping (gender unknown) was arrested at home on the morning of October 17, 2022 after returning from a farm market. The police ransacked the home and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a copy of Zhuan Falun, a desk calendar, a wall poster, etc. Wang Ping was taken to the Shiqiao Police Station for interrogation and was released at 7 p.m.
Three practitioners from Ganguantun Township including Zhang Xinghe, Zhang Yudong and Cu Xiulian were summoned to the Ganguantun Police Station. They were questioned there and returned home later that day.
Liu Yaping (gender unknown) is a teacher at Nandulehe Kindergarten in Pinggu District. After she was released from the Pinggu Detention Center, her salary was reduced because she practices Falun Gong.
Mr. Li Wanqing from Sunhe Township in Chaoyang District was arrested on February 6, 2023. He was released on February 16, 2023.
