(Minghui.org) Under the guidance of Falun Dafa’s founder, Master Li Hongzhi, many practitioners have acted with righteous thoughts and actions. Some family members who do not practice are very supportive.
Qin always told her two children about Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. One of them, Xiu, was poisoned when she was given too much neomycin when she was hospitalized as a child. As a result, she became deaf and mute.
Xiu listened to her mother and always carried an amulet (a Falun Dafa keepsake) with the words, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” on it. She cares for her husband, parents, and her parents-in-law. Her father-in-law is very impressed and tells people, “My daughter-in-law is great. It’s impossible to find a good person like her these days.”
Xiu and her husband (who is also deaf-mute) run a food business in another city. Xiu prepares snacks of thin sheets of bean curd, which are clean, tasty, and reasonably priced. Most of her customers are repeat customers. Xiu always tries to be a good person and returns the difference whenever her customers accidentally give her too much. Seeing how hard she works, one couple bought a her a cup of milk tea to show their appreciation. Xiu thought it was impolite to decline, but she also knew her mother had told her what Master said about, “no loss, no gain.” When she asked her mother, she said, “The next time they buy a snack, just give them extra.”
Whenever Xiu visits her mother, she always brings nice fruit and puts it in front of Master’s portrait to show her respect.
Qin has been making truth clarification materials in her home for 10 years. Xiu is very supportive. When other practitioners come, she always treats them well. Once her husband had some misunderstanding about Dafa and attempted to destroy her mother’s Falun Dafa books. Xiu protected the books and would not let her husband touch them. She did not back off even when he threatened her with a knife.
In October 2010, Qin and several other practitioners were arrested and taken to the city’s detention center. Xiu went the police station every day, asking for her release. She wrote on a piece of paper, “My mother is a kind person. When I was a child she suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and took lots of medicine. She was depressed and often argued with Father. After she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1994, she became healthy and happy—almost like a different person. Please release my mother!” She wept so loudly that everyone in the building heard her. She went there every day from Monday to Friday.
After a few days, Xiu caught a cold. She went to a hospital for an intravenous injection in the morning but still went to the police station that afternoon to seek her mother’s release. She showed the police officer the hole in her arm from the injection and wrote that she’d gone to the hospital before she went to the police station. She wrote, “I need my mother!” Then she began to cry.
Every time Xiu came, the police said, “The mute daughter is here again.” Her crying touched some of the officers. One said, “Look at her. Why not release her mother?”
Xiu can read people’s facial expressions and lips when they speak. Her mother was held for more than 20 days. That day, she told her sister-in-law that it seemed the police might release Qin. She asked her sister-in-law to accompany her the following day.
Whenever she went to the police station, Xiu asked Master Li to protect her mother, and she did so before she went to the police station with her sister-in-law. As she had expected, the police told them to go to the detention center and pick her mother up.
As soon as Qin came out, Xiu hugged her and cried. She also tried to look her over and see if her mother had been tortured. She did not stop until her mother said no one had beaten her. The officers who witnessed this were very moved.
In 2017, Qin was arrested again for her belief. Xiu’s daughter Yun told others about this and tried to rescue her. She was soon also arrested.
When she heard about it, Xiu immediately went to see her mother. Her mother was given a four-year prison sentence. Seeing his wife Qin and granddaughter Yun detained, Xiu’s father, who was in his 70s, saw his blood pressure go up. Her brother and sister-in-law worked in another city and could not help, so Xiu had to take care of her elderly father while trying to rescue her mother and daughter. She was exhausted.
Local practitioners did not know what to do. Qin and now Yun were both detained. One day when four practitioners were sending forth righteous thoughts, Xiu appeared and told them the situation: Her elderly father was ill and bedridden, and her brother and his wife lived in another city and were unable to help. She said she begged Master for help.
The practitioners were moved by her sincerity. Despite all these difficulties, Xiu did not say anything bad about Falun Dafa. She trusted Dafa and practitioners and came to them for help instead of relying on everyday people.
One practitioner drafted a letter addressed to the police, and several practitioners provided comments on how to improve it. Xiu then hand copied it. Her writing was good and she finished it quickly. In the letter, Xiu explained that both she and her husband were deaf-mute, so Qin had raised Yun. As a result, Yun loved Qin very much and was deeply depressed after Qin’s recent arrest.
“My mother (Qin) had serious rheumatoid arthritis. It was so bad that her hands and feet were deformed. But she still took good care of Yun and I was very grateful. It was Falun Dafa that cured Mother’s arthritis and improved her temper,” Xiu wrote. “In fact, Falun Dafa was not persecuted in China at the time and even television reports said Dafa was good. After she began practicing Falun Dafa, mother told me to treat my parents-in-law well.”
The next morning, Xiu went to a nearby post office with her ID and mailed the letter. Several days later, her daughter Yun was released.
Qin was also released, and she continues to tell people about Falun Dafa and expose the persecution. Her husband has also improved. Xiu’s food business is flourishing and the entire family firmly believes in Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
