(Minghui.org) Two years after Mr. Yue Sheguo was released from prison for practicing Falun Gong, the Handan City, Hebei Province resident was arrested again and given another term for his faith.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Yue was arrested on June 14, 2020 for distributing information about Falun Gong’s health benefits in helping people fighting the COVID-19 disease. The police ransacked his home the next day and took away several Falun Gong DVDs. His parents, both nearly 70 years old, were dealt a blow when they received his detention notice on June 17.

The Congtai District Procuratorate indicted Mr. Yue on November 30, 2020. Judge Ye Junhua of the Congtai District Court held a hearing of his case on March 12, 2021.

Mr. Yue’s family was notified on May 2, 2021 that he had been sentenced to three years and three months in prison. He was taken to the Jidong Prison on June 18 and is still incarcerated there.

Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Mr. Yue has been arrested at least five times for raising awareness about the persecution.

He was first arrested on April 21, 2001 and given administrative detention. His second arrest was on July 4, 2003, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was first held at the Feixiang Detention Center, then transferred to the Yongnian County Detention Center. He was again held at the Yongnian County Detention Center following his next arrest in 2008.

His fourth arrest was in April 2017, also for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was sentenced to one year in December and released in May 2018.
