(Minghui.org) A Zhuanghe City, Liaoning Province resident was sentenced to three years in May 2022 for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Wang Changqing was arrested at 5 a.m. on July 11, 2020 by more than ten police officers. His home was ransacked. The police first took him to the Guangmingshan Police Station before driving him to the Pikou Police Station in the afternoon. He was confined to an interrogation chair overnight.
At 6 a.m. the next day, the police took Mr. Wang to a hospital for a physical examination. He was found to have inflammation in his lungs and the local detention center refused to accept him. He was released on bail after his son paid a 2,000-yuan bond.
The Pikou Police Station submitted Mr. Wang’s case to the Pulandian Procuratorate in September 2020 and sought to prosecute him.
Mr. Wang was installing siding at a customer’s home on October 19, 2021, when three plainclothes officers showed up and arrested him. They handcuffed his arms behind his back so tightly that he was in excruciating pain. The officers pushed him into a police car and took him to the police station.
The police issued an arrest warrant the next day and kept Mr. Wang at a quarantine center before taking him to the Pulandian Detention Center.
The Pulandian District Court sentenced Mr. Wang to three years in May 2022. He is still held at the detention center at the time of writing.
