(Minghui.org) It’s been recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province resident was sentenced to three years and fined 5,000 yuan last year for her faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Fu Shengping, 55, was arrested on May 9, 2020 after being reported by a local for talking to him about Falun Gong. Her home was also ransacked.
Ms. Fu’s arrest was approved on May 20, 2020. The police later submitted her case to the Yantian District Procuratorate, which, together with Yantian District Court, has been designated to handle Falun Gong cases in the Shenzhen region. The judge sentenced Ms. Fu on April 26, 2021. She has been taken to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison at the time of writing.
The Bantian Police Station that arrested Ms. Fu has been participating in the persecution all these years. Another practitioner arrested by it was Mr. Chen Shuang, a native of Xianning City, Hubei Province in his 20s, who was working in Shenzhen. Mr. Chen was arrested on June 4, 2017 and later sentenced to seven years.
Prior to her latest sentencing, Ms. Fu has also been repeatedly targeted in the past few years for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was arrested on December 8, 2015 and later on February 7, 2019 and detained for 15 days each time.
Between 2017 and 2019, Qiu Jianping, an officer of the Bantian Police Station, constantly harassed Ms. Fu at home and sometimes at her workplace. When she refused to renounce Falun Gong, Qiu also began to harass her son.
