(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 50 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Yanzhen and Ms. Jiao Ting’e Sentenced to Four Years and One and a Half Years in Prison Respectively

Numerous practitioners were arrested on June 2, 2021. Mr. Xu Yanzhen was recently sentenced to four years in prison and Ms. Jiao Ting’e to a year and a half.

2. [Chongqing] Zhu Zonglan and Yang Xu Face Trial

Zhu Zonglan from the Banan District and Yang Yu (Yang Chunrong) will be tried in the Jiulongpo District Court on August 1, 2022. 

3. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shen Guosheng Tried in Court

Mr. Shen Guoshen was tried online by the Yingze District Court on the afternoon of July 8, 2022. Two lawyers appealed his innocence. The verdict was not announced during the hearing. His family members were not allowed to attend. They were told it was because of the pandemic. 

4. [Wendeng City, Shandong Province] Ten Practitioners Arrested

Ten practitioners were arrested on July 20, 2022. They are, Ms. Lin Jixiao from Dachuang Village of Songcun Town, Ms. Zhang Yingmiao and Zhang Yingming from Zhangjiachan Town, Ms. Lian Haiying from Zeku Town, Qu Aiping from Zetou Town, Ms. Tian Lisha, Ms. Liu Mingming, Ms. Xu Aifang, Tian Tian, and Tian Tian’s mother. 

The police ransacked the practitioners’ homes and confiscated many Falun Gong books, their photos of Falun Gong’s founder, truth clarifying materials, computers, printers, etc. Several truth-clarifying material production sites were destroyed.

Ms. Lin Jixiao, Ms. Zhang Yingmiao and Qu Aiping have been released. The other practitioners may be detained in the Rongcheng Detention Center or other places.

5. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] The Case Against Ms. Zhao Xiuhua Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Zhao Xiuhua was reported to the police for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Qujiazhuang Village on May 20, 2022. She was arrested at home by officers from the Shalingzi Police Station on the afternoon of May 23, 2022. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, a computer, and a printer. Ms. Zhao was released on bail pending trial in the evening. Her son received a notice on July 28 or 29, 2022 that Ms. Zhao was charged and was summoned to the procuratorate on August 1 or 2, 2022. 

6. [Beijing] Practitioners Xiao Li and Zhang Lei Arrested

Xiao Li and Zhang Lei in the Changping District were arrested there on the afternoon of July 27, 2022. Their current situation is unknown.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Tieying Arrested

Ms. Li Tieying from Dumeng County stayed in her daughter’s home in the Ranghulu District to accompany her husband to see a doctor. Four officers from the Ranghulu District Police Department went there on July 12, 2022. They confiscated three Falun Gong books and took Ms. Li to the police department. Ms. Li was later released on bail pending trial.

8. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yurong Tried in Court

Ms. Liu Yurong was arrested and held in a detention center. She was tried in the Linghai City Court on the morning of July 13, 2022, with six other people. She is facing one and a half years in prison. The verdict was not announced during the court hearing.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Shuhua Arrested

Ms. Liu Shuhua, 60, was caught by surveillance cameras when she distributed truth-clarifying materials and was arrested at her home by officers from the Zhongyuan Police Station in Songbei District on July 28, 2022. Her home was ransacked. The police confiscated several thousand yuan in paper bills imprinted with information about Falun Gong.

10. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] The Case Against Ms. Zhang Hui Submitted to the Procuratorate

The case against Ms. Zhang Hui from the Qinghe District was submitted to the procuratorate. Her case will eventually be handled by the Changtu Court. 

11. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Six Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Wujia Town Police Station in Shuangcheng District went to Cao Xicai’s home on July 28, 2022. They knocked on the door but no one answered.

Several officers from the Wujia Town Police Station took Ms. Zhang Li to a hostel for interrogation on the afternoon of July 28, 2022. 

Officers from the Wujia Town Police Station also harassed other practitioners in July including Ms. Du Guilian and her husband, Ms. He and her husband, Ms. Zhao Shukun, and Zhang Li.

12. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wei Liying Harassed

Ms. Wei Liying was harassed at home by officers from the Hebei Street Police Station on July 22, 2022. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books.

13. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] The Case Against Ms. Luo Banglin Submitted to the Procuratorate

Ms. Luo Banglin’s case was re-submitted to the procuratorate.

14. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Mr. Han Liping Arrested and Detained

Mr. Han Liping was arrested on July 22, 2022, and is detained in the Chengde City Detention Center. 

15. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Yaping Harassed

Mr. Liu Yaping was harassed by Wang Yanming, director of Nandulehe Elementary School in the Pinggu District on July 27, 2022. He was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which he refused.

16. [Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Lin Xiuling Arrested

Ms. Lin Xiuling, 66, is a retired anesthesiologist from the People’s Hospital. She was arrested on July 19, 2022, for distributing truth-clarifying materials and is held in a detention house. 

17. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Jianhui and Ms. Hu Deyu Arrested

Mr. Li Jianhui from Anguo City was arrested in Anguo City on July 27, 2022. 

Ms. Hu Deyu, 67, lives in Xiaolizhuang Village, Wan’an Township, Li County of Baoding City. She was arrested in the Wan’an Township Market on the morning of July 27, 2022, and was taken to the Li County Police Department. Her home was ransacked on the afternoon of July 28, 2022, and her photo of Falun Gong’s founder was confiscated. She was threatened with being detained for 15 days. 

18. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Zhenlin Arrested

Mr. Han Zhenlin from Dongjiu County was arrested at home by officers from Guan County around July 29, 2022. His home was ransacked. His Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. 

19. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Four practitioners were arrested on July 23, 2022. They are Ms. Han Liping, Ma Xinnai, Ms. Liu Yan, and Ms. Bai Shuqin.

20. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Shuyun Harassed

Ms. Jiang Shuyun, 82, has been harassed constantly after she brought a lawsuit against former CCP leader Jiang Zemin. 

Two officers from the Wenmiao Police Station in the Changyi District went to Ms. Jiang’s home on July 20, 2022. When they asked if Ms. Jiang still practiced Falun Gong, she said she did. When they asked if there were Falun Gong materials in her home, she said there weren't. They started to search it and photographed everything. They found a copy of Zhuan Falun and took a photo of it.
