(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
Ms. Xu Aiyun, 78, was arrested on June 17, 2022, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers. Her home was ransacked by officers from her local police station and clerks from her community.
Seven practitioners were tried in the Dengta Court on June 21, 2022. Judge Huang Yuefa forbade their attorneys from speaking, and intimidated them by saying, “consider the results.” Mr. Li Peixin stated that officers beat him when he was arrested. Judge Huang questioned him for evidence and Mr. Li gave details. The officers did not show him a search warrant and started beating him as soon as they entered his home. He did not cooperate when they took his fingerprints. Over ten officers brutally beat him. As a result his thighs were swollen and his ribs were injured. One officer slapped him twice simply because Mr. Lu looked at him.
The court was adjourned around 12:00 p.m. and will resume on June 30.
Ms. Weng Meichai was arrested at 1:00 a.m. on June 20, 2020. Her home was ransacked.
Ms. Peng Jianpu was arrested at home by more then 10 officers at 11:00 a.m. on June 7, 2022. She was taken to the police station, and then to a Traditional Chinese Hospital for a detention center entry physical exam. Her blood pressure was as high as 218 mmHg so she was released on bail. The officers illegally confiscated her identity card from her home.
Zhang Rongqin, gender unknown, was arrested in mid-June 2022, after an assistant officer reported her when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held in the Dongguan Police Station and released to her family after 10:00 p.m.
Ms. Xu Guihua was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Station in November 2021 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked by officers from the police station and the Taiping Domestic Security Division. They seized her Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and other Falun Gong materials. They tricked her into signing a photo of the confiscated items, saying they would be returned to her in several days, but she was never able to get them back. Officers and prosecutors called her son several times. They had him pass a message to her ordering her to sign on their fabricated case documents.
Her trial is scheduled for June 21, 2022, by the Taiping District Court.
The trial against Mr. Qu Xing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on July 13, 2022, by the Gaoxin District Court.
Zou Guangqing, gender unknown, was arrested by officers from the Budong Police Station on June 19, 2022, because the city was hosting the Qingdao Multinationals Summit. Zou’s home was ransacked.
Ms. Zhao Zhen of Huanren County, nearly 80, was arrested on June 8, 2022, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong flyers in the neighborhood.
Three officers dragged her into a police car. On their way to the police department, they questioned her about where she got the Falun Gong flyers. She told them the benefits of practicing Falun Gong. Officers counted the copies of Falun Gong materials that she carried, and forced her to sign and press her fingerprints on the police reports. Her home was ransacked.
Mr. Xiong Wende works in Shuanghuan Technology LLC. He was arrested in his office by officers from the Dongmafang Police Station on the morning of June 21, 2022. He was taken to the Tiane Brainwashing Center.
Mr. Zhang Xiangfa, a retiree from 728 Salt Factory, was arrested and taken to the Tiane Brainwashing Center in mid-June 2022.
Ms. Huang Huaqiong was arrested by officers from the Quangang Police Department on the evening of June 19, 2022. She was taken to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Li Wenfeng of the Chenghua District is in police custody. She was called to report to the Wannianchang Police Station by Ni Yong, deputy director of the station, on June 21, 2022. She was arrested as soon as she arrived. The officers threatened to put her case on record. She is being held in the Judiciary Office across the street.
She has been harassed, stalked, and photographed since 2020 by clerks from the Huaishudian Community, Wannianchang Street Office, and the Chenghua District “Care Center.” Their goal is to “zero-out” practitioners. After they failed to make her renounce Falun Gong, the police illegally detained her.
