July 18, 2022 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Heilongjiang Province, China

(Minghui.org) At least 36 Falun Gong practitioners in five cities across Heilongjiang Province were arrested between July 11 and 12, 2022, per an order from the Heilongjiang 610 Office, an extralegal agency created specifically to persecute Falun Gong.

The police arrested the practitioners according to a list. Most of the arrests took place in the morning. Those practitioners who had Falun Gong-related materials found at their homes were held in custody, while others were later released.

The five cities where the arrests took place include Harbin, Mudanjiang, Hailin, Daqing, and Qiqihar.

Three Arrested in Harbin City and Bin County on July 11

Officers from the Xinli Police Station in Bin County attempted to arrest Mr. Cao Yanmin on July 10. As he wasn’t home, the police stayed outside for one hour and left.

Four officers from the Xicheng Police Station broke into Ms. Huang Jingjie’s home at around 8 a.m. Her notebook with a list of Falun Gong books was confiscated. As Ms. Huang was so terrified by the attempted arrest that she fainted, the police called an ambulance and gave up the plan to arrest her.

Ms. Zhou Guanghui was arrested at home at around 7: 30 a.m.

Two more practitioners, Ms. Lyu Wei and her husband Mr. Fu Minhua were arrested in the morning by police who waited outside of their home. Their home was also ransacked.

Twelve Arrested in Mudanjiang City and Hailin City on July 11

Several practitioners in Hailin City (under the jurisdiction of Mudanjiang) were arrested at around 6 a.m. Five confirmed arrests include Ms. Zhou Huifang, Ms. Fu Zhaocui, Ms. Fu Xuefei, Ms. Li Jinying and Ms. Wei Liping. Except the first three practitioners who have since been released, Ms. Li was given seven days at the Hailin Detention Center and Ms. Wei was given fifteen days of detention.

Ms. Chen Jinfeng and her son, both of Mudanjiang, were arrested. Her home was ransacked.

Five other practitioners in Mudanjiang, including a male practitioner in his 40s, were also arrested. The male practitioner’s home was ransacked and his private car impounded.

Among the Mudanjiang practitioners, Ms. Zhu Yanhua remains detained at the time of writing. The police had been harassing her at home every day prior to the arrest, sometimes staying at her home for more than ten hours each day. They also followed her husband whenever he went out.

Two other practitioners, Ms. Han Honggui and Ms. Zhang (a fried donut vendor) were harassed on the same day. Another female practitioner was harassed the day before and her mother’s home was ransacked.

Fourteen Arrested in Daqing City on July 12

Ms. Yang Guilan, a 75-year-old retired employee of an electric pump company, was arrested at home a around 5: 30 a.m. The police claimed that they were taking her to the police station to ask her several questions about her earlier arrest in 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They confiscated her photo of the founder of  Falun Gong and threatened to withhold the photo if she didn’t go with them. Ms. Yang was released at around 4: 30 p.m. She didn’t answer any of the police’s questions.

Also before 6 a.m., the police deceived Mr. Gao Xijiang into going downstairs with the excuse that they’d scratched his car. When he came out, the police arrested him and ordered a locksmith to try to break into his home, after his wife, Ms. Wei Jun, refused to open the door for them. Despite breaking the lock and sawing through the metal railing outside of their window, the police still couldn’t get in after two hours. Mr. Gao was released on bail at around 4 p.m.

Another practitioner, Ms. Chen Jingjie, who lives in the same neighborhood and was arrested around the same time, was also released on bail in the afternoon. Her Falun Gong books and electronic book reader were confiscated.

Mr. Xu Pujun (no relation to above-mentioned Ms. Xu) was arrested at work between 6:30 and 6:40 p.m. His laptop was confiscated. The police attempted to deceive his wife, Ms. Yin Fengzhi, into going to the police station, but she didn’t comply. Mr. Xu has been released on bail.

Around the same time, Ms. Pang Zhonghua and Ms. Zhu Jianli were arrested at home. Both of their Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Pang has been released.
