I have been involved with the mobile truth-clarification project for a few years and I’d like to tell you about my cultivation experiences.
When I first joined the project the cultivation environment in Hong Kong was relaxed. People took Dafa informational materials whenever I handed them out, but they were mostly elderly people. Sometimes I wondered if they would read them, and if the materials were effective in helping people understand Falun Dafa and why it is persecuted.
I had a dream that I was distributing materials with another practitioner, but I was handing out umbrellas instead. I think Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, was letting me know that the materials were like umbrellas that protected people.
In another dream I was folding truth-clarification newspapers, but I was actually folding slices of bread. I realized later that bread could satisfy hunger and save lives. Distributing these papers seemed to be a simple task, but it played a significant role in awakening sentient beings. As long as we did it, Master would arrange predestined people to receive them.
My understanding was that we should let go of human notions and do it with our hearts.
As the situation in Hong Kong developed, many practitioners, including the ones in our team, came out to distribute informational materials and talk to people about Falun Dafa.
The younger generation in Hong Kong didn’t seem to understand or care to know what Dafa was about. They felt that it had nothing to do with them. But things have now changed. Many take our materials, and some give us a thumbs up. Their attitude towards Dafa has turned around. Many think that Falun Dafa is amazing and practitioners are extraordinary, and they are grateful for Master Li’s compassionate salvation.
I felt fearful as the environment in Hong Kong became more restrictive. I thought about practitioners in China who risked their lives to awaken people under tremendous pressure. The changes in Hong Kong were not aimed at us, thus I should not be afraid. I encouraged myself to strengthen my righteous thoughts.
The mobile truth-clarification sites were affected though. People often reported us to the police, and the officers came to check our identification cards. This didn’t happen before, so we shared our understandings on this issue. We discovered we were afraid the policemen came to take down our identification card numbers, and our attachments to fear was the cause of the interference.
Even though we wanted to eliminate our attachments to fear, we tried to dodge the police whenever they approached us. A few practitioners stood there and continued to hand out materials while reciting the Fa.
Master said,
“My roots are planted in this universe, and so someone would have to be able to harm me in order to harm you, which means that they would have to have the power to harm this universe.” (The First Talk, Zhuan Falun)
We asked Master to dispel our fear, and the officers walked past us. Thank you Master, for getting rid of one layer of our fear.
I was handing out materials one time and saw a policeman walking towards me. I noticed my attachment to fear and thought of Master’s words,
“...because the Dafa disciples are my disciples, and nobody else is worthy of handling them.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Practitioners,” Collected Teachings Given Around the World Volume VI)
“Swish!” and the fear was gone. The energy was so powerful that it destroyed the bad elements that controlled the police. When my attachment was gone, so was the interference.
We searched inward to get rid of our fear. A few of us sent forth righteous thoughts the day before we distributed materials to eliminate the wicked elements around the site, and to stop the old forces from manipulating people that interfered with us. We asked Master to protect the truth-clarification site.
After that, no officers came by to check our identification cards.
After joining the mobile truth-clarification team, I learned to help people withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.
The first few years, I only handed out Minghui Weekly and I didn’t know how to talk to people about quitting the CCP. I think my human notions prevented me from doing it. I was embarrassed and afraid that people would not listen, and I admired practitioners who could do it. Although I wanted to give it a try, I still couldn’t open my mouth.
Master must have seen my wish, and arranged for a practitioner to join our team. He distributed materials while assisting people to renounce the Party. He then explained how to talk to people and the process of quitting. Master also sent me people who wanted to quit. As my confidence grew, I had the courage to speak.
When we put our hearts into it, Master strengthened a mechanism to help us. Many practitioners in our team are now able to hand out materials while helping people renounce the CCP.
I have eliminated many attachments, especially the attachment to jealousy. When I saw practitioners help many people quit, but I did not, my jealousy surfaced. I shared with practitioners about my attachment, and it was easier to eliminate it once it was exposed.
We also had a lot of conflicts within the team, but we reminded each other to identify the attachments behind them and eliminate them. Some of us didn’t want to forbear hardships or didn’t put others first. Others had attachments to competitiveness, fear, showing-off, and selfishness. The conflicts helped us become more forgiving and tolerant.
Under Master’s protection and help, the mobile truth-clarification project has been operating smoothly.
