(Minghui.org) Not long ago, my residential building was locked down because of the COVID pandemic. When I got home from work, I saw a blue tent next to the entrance, and people were guarding the pathway. Residents were only allowed to enter the building, but not leave. My family had gone grocery shopping the previous day before the lockdown was enforced.

We were told that the building would be locked down for 7 days, because there were people who were in close contact with COVID-19 patients in our building. The same thing happened to other units in our residential complex. One unit was locked down for four days, and another for seven days. During the lockdown, everyone in the building would be tested for COVID-19 every other day. If one person tested positive, the entire complex would be locked down. Since we didn’t know how to buy goods online, it would be a problem for us to get the necessities if the lockdown were prolonged.

The virus is just that black substance, karma. The current situation showed that a lot of karma, in another dimension, had accumulated in my residential subdivision. This showed that I hadn’t been diligent in cultivation. I didn’t send righteous thoughts intensively and I didn’t distribute enough Dafa truth clarification materials in my neighborhood.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, I had only once distributed Falun Gong informational materials in my area. According to what I was told, Falun Gong practitioners put more materials in one-story houses, and less in buildings with elevators. Those Falun Gong adherents who live in the buildings with elevators are afraid of distributing information. They held the attachments of fear and anxiety.

To break the blockade and save sentient beings, I decided to quickly distribute materials containing information on how people can quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and how reciting “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” can ward off plagues and viruses. I started preparing the materials the next day.

That night, I sent righteous thoughts toward my subdivision for one hour. Through Fa study, I came to understand clearly that Falun Gong’s requirements for practitioners become higher and higher as one improves one’s character.

I realized that since the unit I live in was locked down, and none of us could leave the building, the informational materials could only have been distributed by me.

Master said,

“Only when you let go of all notions and attachments will you be able to advance unimpeded on your path of cultivation.” (Teachings at the Conference in the Western US)

I understood that according to human logic and notions, I would expose myself as a Falun Dafa practitioner by distributing materials in my building, and would then be persecuted by the police.

However, based on Dafa’s principles, the persecution is not a persecution of man against man but evil factors in other dimensions targeting practitioners’ human attachments. I would be safe if I didn’t think like a human. I should use my righteous thoughts in this situation. Our mission as Falun Dafa practitioners is to save people. If I proceeded as Master taught us, the evil factors and police will leave me alone.

I sent righteous thoughts at home to ask people in the building to not walk in the hallways and so I wouldn’t meet anyone when distributing the materials. It took me half-an-hour to distribute the materials. Then I returned home without any problem.

When I returned home, my family was very angry and worried, and said that it was obvious what I had done. I had risked my job, and nobody would read the materials during the pandemic anyway. I didn’t argue with them. I told them that I gave people the nine words—“Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good”—to save lives. I also mentioned that Falun Gong is not among the 14 cults identified by the State Council and the Ministry of Public Security. The China Administration of Press and Publications issued “Announcement 50” to repeal its ban on the publication of Falun Gong books, so it’s legal to publish Falun Gong books.

My family asked why practitioners were detained in prisons. I said the CCP never follows the law but we always follow the law. “Good will be rewarded with good while evil will meet with evil” is a heavenly principle. Bo Xilai, Zhou Yongkang, and Fu Zhenghua received karmic retribution because they persecuted Falun Gong. After I spoke, my family gradually calmed down. Later, when they went downstairs to take out the garbage, they found the blue tent was gone. It had been removed the night before.

The lockdown of our unit was over in less than two days. However, the middle schools and elementary schools were told they would receive online lessons at home for two weeks. After a few days, some residential subdivisions in our area were locked down again. One can go in and out of the subdivision only with a negative COVID-19 test report issued within the last 48 hours. I know that I must remain diligent in cultivation and save more people.

The lockdown of my unit was lifted rather quickly. From this, I came to understand that the more severe the persecution of Falun Gong in an area, the longer and more severe the pandemic will be. If fellow practitioners cultivate diligently as a whole, have less human attachments, and do a good job when saving people, the pandemic won’t last as long.

From now on, I will study the Fa more, save more people, and do my best to keep up with Fa rectification.
