(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Ms. Qu Guiqing Sentenced to Nine Months

Ms. Qu Guiqing was arrested in December 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong, and was detained 12 days. She was tried in court on April 29, 2022 and was sentenced to nine months in prison and fined 2000 yuan. Because of her health condition, she is currently at home.

2. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Wenfeng Missing

Ms. Li Wenfeng left home to avoid further persecution on December 9, 2021. She has not been seen or heard from since then.

3. [Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Ms. Long Zhengxiu, 66, was arrested by several officers on April 28, 2022. Her home was ransacked. It is unknown where she is currently detained.

Four officers from the Wanzai County Police Department went to Ms. Guo Yunying’s home on the afternoon of April 27, 2022. They confiscated her Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials and media player. Ms. Guo, 66, was taken to the county police department and was released later that day. The following afternoon, two officers Wu Hui and Xin Hongchao from the county Domestic Security Division went to her home. They pressured Ms. Guo to sign a guarantee statement and threatened her with her husband’s pension.

Ms. Guo Yuncheng, over 70, was harassed on the April 27, 2022. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated.

4. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Hao Arrested

Mr. Wang Hao, 57, was reported to police and was arrested by officers in Wuqing District on the afternoon of April 28, 2022. His home was ransacked. His personal belongings including his Falun Gong books and printer were confiscated. Mr. Wang is currently detained in the Wuqing Detention Center.

5. [Chongqing] Ms. Tian Qimei Harassed

Ms. Tian Qimei had been harassed at home for three consecutive days from April 25, 2022. Several people including officer Zhou Jin from the Shuanglong Police Station in Yubei District, Yang Yong and Wang Wu from the local neighborhood committee, and Feng from the Judicial Bureau, came to her home to harass her. Ms. Tian’s pension has been suspended.

6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Chengzhu Arrested

Mr. Liu Chengzhu was arrested by officers from the Wuchang Railway Station and the Railway Police Department on April 25, 2022. His home was ransacked. All his Falun Gong books, truth-clarifying materials, and the printing equipment were confiscated. Mr. Liu was released on bail pending trial that evening.

7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] The Case Against Mr. Ruan Fanghua Submitted to the Procuratorate

Mr. Ruan Fanghua was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Dongfanghong Police Station on December 23, 2021. He was released two days later.

Mr. Ruan was taken to the police station on January 14, 2022. The police tried to take him to a detention center but failed because of his high blood pressure. He was released the next day.

Mr. Ruan was informed on April 19, 2022 that his case was submitted to the Yuelu District Procuratorate.

8. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Chunman Arrested and Detained

Mr. Yang Chunman was arrested at home by Zhang Bo from Yongji County 610 Office and officers from the Chengnan Police Station on February 16, 2022. Mr. Yang was detained for one and a half months in the Jilin City Detention Center. He held a hunger strike and was released on bail pending trial on April 1, 2022.

9. [Pingliang City, Gansu Province] Mr. Wang Funong Arrested

Mr. Wang Funong was arrested for doing the Falun Gong exercises in the village on April 27, 2022. Many police officers were called in. The banner he hung up was confiscated. His home was ransacked and his Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. Mr. Wang was taken to the Yanwugou Police Station and later transferred to the Sishilipu Police Station. Mr. Wang’s mother and his uncle helped to get him out of the police station.

10. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Chen Yuxia was harassed at home by a police officer at the end of February 2022. She was pressured to sign a guarantee statement, which she refused. Her family member signed it on behalf of her.

A police officer went to Mr. Jiang Yuejun’s home on April 20, 2022 but no one was at home.

Four officers from the Tiedong Police Station went to Mr. Li Wancheng’s home on the morning of April 30, 2022. They had a search warrant but they didn’t find anything they were looking for.

Officers from the Tiedong Police Station went to Xiao Yan’s home on the afternoon of April 30, 2022. They knocked on the door but were unable to get in.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lian Jing Arrested

Mr. Lian Jing from the Shenbei District was reported to police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officer Jiang Feng from the Xinchengzi Street Police Station at the end of March 2022. Mr. Lian was taken to the police Station. He was fined 3000 yuan and his bicycle was confiscated. His son was informed recently that Mr. Lian would be charged.

12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Xiuxiang Arrested

Ms. Hou Xiuxiang was arrested by plain-clothes officers for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Shibei District on the afternoon of April 28, 2022. She was taken to the Tong’an Police Station and was released the next afternoon.

13. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Family of Three Persecuted

Mr. Cai Zhongda, his wife Ms. Zeng Sufang and their daughter from Jiexi County, were arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Nanshan Town in December 2021. They were taken to the Jiexi County Detention Center. Ms. Cai and his wife Ms. Zeng are still detained there.
