Paris: People Sign a Petition to Support Falun Dafa Practitioners in Resisting the Persecution in China

Feb. 17, 2022 |   By Minghui correspondent Zhou Wenying in Paris

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held an information day event near the Place du Chatelet in the center of Paris on February 13, 2022. Many people who were out and about on a Sunday afternoon stopped to watch practitioners demonstrate the exercises and signed the petition to show their support after learning the facts about the persecution.

Passersby learn about the persecution of Falun Dafa in China and sign the petition to end the brutalities.

Gérard, 81, lives near Chatelet. He met a practitioner collecting signatures for the petition the day before the event but did not have time to stop. When he noticed practitioners the next day, he said he had not seen such an important activity in a long time. Remarking on the unjust treatment of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, he said, “It is already 2022, yet our leaders still have not paid enough attention to this problem. It is a tragedy.”

Amine Naithamie, a construction engineer, passed by the information booth with his wife. When he was told that the organs of detained practitioners are taken without consent and sold for a profit, he was shocked and said, “Regardless of what religion or belief a person has, taking organs by force cannot be tolerated and should be stopped. This is despicable.” He thinks that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has committed crimes against humanity in its suppression of Falun Dafa practitioners and Uyghurs and that it is important to tell people about this.

His wife Melissa said, “Organ harvesting is unacceptable—it is a crime against humanity. Countries should sign the petition and act together to oppose this. China is an economically powerful country, so many countries are afraid to offend it, but we should not be scared. This is to prevent disaster, it is about the lives of hundreds of millions of innocent people, to spare them from organ harvesting and torture. Everyone, whatever their race, should sign the petition and do whatever they can to stop this persecution. Even if it is just a signature, it will be of great help.”

Henri Georges Loutopy works in the government. He said, “The CCP is powerful and people are afraid to attack it. You Falun Dafa practitioners are courageous. I stand with you. The CCP has committed a crime. There is no freedom in China—this is a fight for democracy.”

Ms. Noelle said after signing the petition, “People should respect humanity; everyone is precious. One should live life to the fullest and should not be hindered. One’s faith or way of thinking should not be the target of persecution.”

Herve Pierrel works in finance. He thinks Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are excellent moral values and that people should follow them.

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Does the CCP Persecute It?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five gentle exercises have experienced uplifted health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline's growing popularity as a threat to the CCP's atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, issued an order to ban the practice.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 22 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. More have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply the organ transplant industry.
